The #Zeitpyramide (or 'time pyramid') is a work of public art by Manfred Laber under construction in #Wemding, Germany.
The pyramid was begun in 1993 – the 1,200 year anniversary of the town.
It will take another 1,160 years to complete and is scheduled to be finished in the year 3183.
The structure is intended to consist of 120 blocks when complete, with a new block added every ten years.
At 15:06 on 9 September 2023, the fourth block was installed, making the project 3.3% complete

According the initial concept, started in 1993, every 10 years a new block is added, so in 1,190 years time Laber's #Zeitpyramide in #Wemdig should be finished - if everything goes as planned.

#Wemding in southern Germany was first mentioned in 793 - and the #Zeitpyramide project was initiated by local artist Manfred Laber on the occasion of the town's 1,200th anniversary to give a sense of what this long period of time actually really means.

Die Zeitpyramide wird, wenn sei einmal fertig ist - im Jahre 3193 - aus insgesamt 120 Quadern bestehen. Wer das Ereignis heute verpasst, hat erst in 10 Jahren wieder die Chance, dann wird der fünfte Block gesetzt.
