A Malian statue representing a mother and her child installed on a rock on the coast of the Seto Inland Sea of Japan. Instead of being made of wood, it's made of plastic (probably) and it's white and bright green instead of brown or black.

Meon (the ferry to Megijima and Ogijima) at Takamatsu Port, waiting to depart for its 4pm trip. The sky is a wonderful blue, quite a contrast from the thick fog this morning.

Oh well, my first Setouchi Triennale day was delayed because of the morning fog, but at least I got my Art Passport, so there is that. (yes, I'm old school, I like my passport to be made of paper not of bytes, especially because I usually need at least two before the Triennale is over).

One of the thickest fogs I've ever seen in Setouchi this morning. Most ferries to the islands are cancelled.

Oh well. I'll make my Setouchi Triennale 2025 debut tomorrow then.

If you're coming for the first time, this is a nice reminder (especially if you're very urban) that when dealing with the sea, nature often has the last word, and it is necessary to be flexible with your plans.

I have no idea how to even start describing this. Okay, in the background there is a traditional Japanese village on a hill. On the foreground, it's a white structure that vaguely resembles a seashell. It's made of metal but it's actually "lace" made of various scripts from various languages. oh and it's actually the roof of a building made of glass, that happens to be the welcome center of the island. Does it made any sense?

Now that I think about it, I think it's the first time I post it on the Fediverse.

A corridor with some drawings on the walls (if you look closely, parts of the drawings have been erased). At the end of the corridor, a cupboard with something inside.

What's inside of the cupboard: a small statue of the goddess Benzaiten in mermaid form. It was made with eraser crumbs collected from erasing the drawings mentioned in the other picture. She is the fisherman's dream.
