The whine of high speed drones is the vuvuzela of the Winter Olympics.
I make some bits of the web.
...but you're probably here for the cat photos.

When it's both difficult and expensive to dispose of waste, people will dump stuff wherever the hell they think they'll get away with it. So this is no surprise...

@benji_w @liamvhogan Whenever there's a process of choosing who to stop and who to wave through, there's profiling.
Sometimes it's obvious, when they pick who to pull out of a stopped line after looking at the car and driver.
But even just choosing which freeway and what time has a level of profiling - the Sydney M4 at 7am on a weekday is a different demographic than the M1 on a Sunday afternoon.
@Ryanbigg Unfortunately not homeopathic in the sense of being allowed to grab them and vigorously shake them to encourage efficacy.
@trib unfortunately NRL has gone backwards in the past few years (PVL has built up money in the most pyrrhic ways possible), so I doubt they have the guts to take a stand on anything progressive.
feels like it's lost all the progress that had been made up to the 2017 'same love' performance. the Manly pride jersey tantrum alone set the league back years.
LLM driven development is somehow neither DRY nor YAGNI. Inefficiency is not chosen as an intentional tradeoff, because there's no *intent*. It's duplication tolerated because it's "automated", assuming you agree that a non-deterministic process is genuine automation.
It's an addiction pattern - everything is fine unless your supply stops. If that happens, shit's going to get very messy very fast.
@liamvhogan Does anyone genuinely think RBT is random?! I think they just accept the baked-in profiling because they trust the actual breath test to be objective.
Upgraded work machine to OSX Tahoe (because you can't ignore updates forever) and the general visual effect is "I keep thinking I need to clean my glasses".
Also while I shouldn't fixate on a single detail the window corner radius really bugs me. Feels like someone took a bit too much off the corner while sanding and just had to go around and do the others and pretend it was intentional.
@weirdestate I don't understand how anyone could think, let alone relax or sleep in all that noise
Anyway. Watching some slidy olympics.
Ice skating is weird. The coaches sitting around the skater at the end makes them look like very camp hostages.
Also holy shit the current crop of advertising is a cringefest.
Moving hosts pops up some unexpected things, but I am confident none will feel as weird or sad as deleting my late mum's email account.
We kept it running for a while in case we needed access codes etc, but then forgot about it.
Had to look up the date because my memory around the time is basically non existent... it's been 7.5 years.
