@carbonatedcaffeine here’s that video!
I would now consider the #GlasgowInterfaceExplorer probe.rs applet feature-complete (within the scope of "an SWD debugger"); please go ahead and test it! https://github.com/probe-rs/probe-rs/pull/3388
idiot stinky cat
@protosphere it looks super fun! I’ve had my eye on this creator; their 4x5 design would be perfect for Instax
@protosphere nice! :D are you gonna get a lomograflok instant wide back for it too?
much more consistent with off-axis light than previously
shaved off some of the plastic for the light sensor and added diffusion paper
bezel decal removal: squish briefly on hot plate @ 70C, scrape with IPA
It’s easy to go too hard with acetone, and even too much IPA can cause scratch marks
snapped the plastic on the black case, but two bezels and the chrome case survived!
getting closer to dialing in the process:
- 1 min preheat front bezel on hot plate at 50C
- 1m20s heat bezel from behind with hot air gun at 155C high air flow. if you don’t keep your distance the case will melt!
fresh sacrifices for the light meter watch cause
@carbonatedcaffeine I’ll try and take a video when I’m free
@carbonatedcaffeine it’s not as nice as those fancy cutting edge eink displays, but the stock demo firmware feels pretty responsive! Enough so that pressing buttons on the touchscreen doesn’t feel unnatural.
Custom firmwares should be able to reconfigure the eink display driver with different refresh waveforms for better ghosting or lower latency, but I haven’t looked into it yet
@tahnok yeah, and touchscreen to boot!
The lilygo t-deck pro I ordered a while back arrived! I’m impressed by the fit and finish, and even their demo firmware is very responsive. Previous products from lilygo definitely felt a bit half baked.
The touchscreen and the keyboard both feel great, and now I’m just waiting for some meshtastic/lora firmware to drop for it.
@tef oof. I’ve survived enough messy git history cleanups to be convinced devs don’t deserve force push perms. At least once team size gets above 7 or so. If you always need a guy to think really hard about git refs, you might as well pay em to have fun automating the process.
It didn’t help that we were shipping our org chart, either. Merges were big biweekly events where each teams branches were merged into one beautiful tree by a crack team of specialists (aka. someone who finally got fed up and installed meld). Someone always gets tempted to rewrite history in big multiway merges and force push it. It’s like ripping the Swiss Cheese Model of Bad Merges to shreds, lol
@tef dang I could’ve been coming to mastodon for the backstory huh
C-mount gameboy camera!
