@tim I've heard of people printing bank statements rather than waiting 30 days. I've also heard that folding the printed bank statement into thirds makes it more likely to pass as a mailed bank statement. 🙃

@nasamuffin hmm, I probably scrolled past it because it looked more like a scarf to me. But that might be the better one to get for having an easily-modified chart.

* Stranded colourwork (other colourwork is fine)

The closest I've found so far is a pair of mittens (Ravelry link: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mushroom-mitts-2) that I could probably incorporate into a shawl. The next closest I found was mostly dicks, and it was a bit visually bland for my tastes.

@aubrianne I'd probably do a cotton thread and use it as an excuse to knit another Niebling design. I have cursed thoughts about doing one of those with jogless colour stripes.

@aubrianne I really wanna knit myself a parasol one of these days. Just two things are blocking me:
* An endless supply of "gotta rush to finish this gift before the deadline"
* I dunno where/how to get the parts I don't want to makes
Unfortunately, only one of these can be solved through the power of my will.

* See something in DC, where I've been meaning to visit a friend, at the start of October

It's 33 degrees outside (91 for those of you who prefer Freedom Units). What am I #knitting with? A worsted/DK-weight yarn with 25% wool and 75% plastic (acrylic).

Would not recommend. Thankfully, the pieces are small, so I never have to rest anything on my lap.

That'll teach me to avoid hubris. Finished the #knitting portion with 8 days until the wedding. Still have to block it and weave in the ends. So far, it's about 4 feet across.

@molly when I read it, I was the first one. But then when I read the two options, the second seemed more correct. So…probably both? I voted for the first.

@nasamuffin I managed to wake up merely five minutes before my alarm! But, since my alarm didn't wake me, I was terrified that I'd slept through it and that I would be super late getting to PAX.

@nosrednayduj Arlington elects Town Meeting Members, and somehow we have the same issue. Last night was budget night, also known as The Airing Of Grievances.

As the moderator said the first night: "Some towns measure their Town Meetings in hours. Here in Arlington, we measure it in weeks."

@otherryn @nobyeni I've also heard that circular needles are relatively new (age of plastics). I think some people used long DPNs (maybe with a knitting belt) for sweaters, but perhaps it wasn't culturally widespread?
