Sometimes, I receive questions which leave both me, and the person asking, bamboozled.

> Your website loads so quickly! What CDN do you use?

There is no CDN. It is just really small and simple, mostly text.

> Sure, but is that Cloudflare, or...?

None. It is a tiny website, just a few kilobytes per page, on a tiny server, at my home, connected to the Internet via my ISP, Andrews & Arnold.

> But are you / they in the cloud?

No. The webserver is in Newbury, in my garage.

> Neil, please can you pass my questions to your technical person? I don't think you understand, your website cannot be in your home. It must be in the cloud or have a CDN.

@ahltorp @glyph Ha! Good catch. Can you tell we are a decentralized organization? We'll get on this too.

@glyph Good point. We’re on it.

We are pleased to announce that we are abandoning our account on X for reasons that will be obvious to denizens of the Fediverse.

The HotNets 2025 submission deadline has been extended to July 9, 2025, in light of the ongoing geopolitical events, which have impacted many members of our community. We hope this gives everyone more time and flexibility under the circumstances, while staying aligned with the reviewing process.
More details are available on the website: conferences.sigcomm.org/hotnet

Hotnets is our annual conference on new and provocative ideas in networking. Authors need not support their ideas with full evaluations; we consider well-reasoned arguments or preliminary evaluations sufficient support for the possibility of the paper's claims in HotNets.
