@portmantony We were told it didn't matter which service you went to, and were told to go here or another server. Thus the reason I came here. I do wish folks had been more up front about all the drama on some of these servers. Again, I have never seen this much drama over on twitter, and that say something.
@andrew One would think the journalist instance would be fine with political talk. But who knows. After being told it didn't really matter was server you get on, and now seeing what this service is actually like, I'd like some clear guidance before moving to another server and having to go through all this ridiculous drama all over again.
@rmayemsinger They deleted my post about Iran because it offended someone!
I have NEVER had as much drama on Twitter in 14 years as I've had with you folks over the past 11 days. It's ironic, since this place is supposed to be the anti-Twitter, but in some ways, some of you are far worse. I'm taking a breather and getting backing to trying to help Ukraine, because I just can't anymore.
@sdamerau None of those rule apply.
@andrew I am a lawyer, but I post nearly 100% about politics. So not sure Legal is accurate. Then again, whatever. I just can't handle all this drama over such silly complaints about important issues.
@HoldenRichards Too late, they deleted my post sharing a Newsweek story about Iran.
@sloopyy So everything about the women's struggle in Iran now needs to be behind a trigger warning? Do you folks not appreciate how offensive and dangerous this is?
I'm on the verge of publicly recommending that no one come over to Mastodon. Is there any server that isn't overrun by the always-offended crowd? We're talking folks who don't think all political posts are offensive, that food posts should be behind a trigger warning, and that posts sharing Newsweek article about the struggle of women in Iran aren't offensive and in need of deletion? Does any server meet these criteria?
@ewarrenfan mstdn.social
@WiselinePRT I've had non-stop tsk tsk
So, Mastodon just banned a post I made sharing a Newsweek article about the horrific crackdown in Iran. Yes, now Newsweek articles about the brave women in Iran are too much for you folks over here. Your community guidelines are actively harming marginal communities and the international human rights struggle. Just think about that, and think about the women in Iran, the next time you complain that it's too much to bear that some guy shared a Newsweek story.
Let’s be clear about something. If you go on social media to criticize your boss, you should be fired. Now, that doesn’t mean those engineers who criticized Musk aren’t heroes. I think they are. But they knew what the result of their actions would be.

Three senior+ software engineers working at Twitter quote tweeted the below, pointing out how it doesn’t make sense.
All three fired the same day, one done in public.
Criticising your boss in public always has negative consequences, though this response was unusually strong. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1591853644944932865
