Reading books and makin’ apps.

@psu_13 When the AI takes our jobs I’m expecting you to hire me at your Michelin Star Mexican/Chinese restaurant.
Trying a go at learning 3D art again. Vending machine instead of donuts this time.
@imyke @cortexbrand Nice! I was surprised at how quick I got it.
There aren’t enough vertical pocket notebooks in the world. This one is excellent. Going to get some good wear and tear.
@imyke @cortexbrand that fold over cover is :chef-kiss:
@christianselig ah I guess his Threads account is the active one. He posts gaming deals. He’s super quick on the draw when cards are restocked.
If you don’t want to roll your own bot, you can also try the HotStock app. I used it to get a Fuji X100VI. I was skeptical at first, but it was a piece of cake. Pay for the IAP for a month and you’ll be set.
@christianselig Roll your own bot to fight the bots. Use Streetmerchant.io on your own machine, have it send notifications to your phone when stock is live, it will prefill what it can. That and turn on alerts for @Wario64
Wait, Skyrim isn’t available on the App Store?
@viticci What do you think of the post-credits story?
I'm torn on it. I love more DQ, but it feels wrong to throw away the growth and sacrifice in the base game. Haven't finished the post game. Not sure if I will.
@sdw some of my favorites from the last few years.
The runners-up:
Children of Time - Empathy for the Buggers. Alternates between a nature documentary and the sad life of a historian in space.
Harrow the Ninth - This is the book that actually delivered the weird, lesbian necromancers in space.
Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone - Australian family drama with plenty of dark humor. And murder. The first pages notes that “deaths will occur on pages 14, 46, 65, 75, 174, 208(ish), 218, 227, 249, somewhere between 243 and 250, 262, and 355.”
Favorite books I read in 2024:
My Murder - Serial killer victims support group. The best _secretly_ sci-fi book.
To Kill a Mockingbird - I guess I only read the Spark Notes of this in high school. I wish I had actually read it back then. I think I’ll end up reading it a few more times in my life.
A Gentleman in Moscow - The shenanigans of a charismatic count, ordered to live the rest of his life in a luxury Soviet hotel.
“Honestly, it’s probably just easier that way.”
@harshil pure comedy shows feel so rare now too. Everything is Comedic Dama, heavy on the drama, light on the comedy. Those few comedies that exist don’t come close the high quality jokes per minute of Arrested Development or 30 Rock.
@jefframes but uh… I guess that has bad vibes.
@jefframes I pay a few dollars a month to Digital Ocean to host a Wordpress instance. You just click a button and it sets it all up.
@harshil it looks like they took an AI generated image and made a car based on it.
@michaelmendoza They've got some crazy bass, but I had no idea just how wild the rest of their production was. They make some great music.
