This one resonates with 40 yo me sitting on the sofa playing Mario Party with my 6 year old. (He’s winning btw) https://zirk.us/@jordinn/109962178767640263
The final results of Family Pokémon drawing night. One of us is a collegiate trained illustrator, one of us is a 6 yr old and the other is just me. Still, was a fun activity for a cold winter night. #pokemon #illustration
@bunnycrimes@mastodon.content.town And also remember to think to yourself, Great Job!
@habibcham @MonaApp I know this will come across as corny, but 99% of the time I set my life to “dark” style and never look back. When I opened Mona this morning after I set this theme yesterday, the color palette literally brightened my day.
Thank you for this, it adds a certain spark to my social media.
I’ve become old enough to realize Walter Peck from the EPA was 100% right to try to regulate the Ghostbusters’ storage containment unit.
society: damn misinfo at scale is getting a bit out of hand lately. seems like a problem.
tech guys: i have invented a machine that generates misinformation. is that helpful?
Some people believe there's no purpose to "liking" something on Mastodon since it doesn't affect any algorithm.
Not the case.
It does something incredibly valuable: it acknowledges people.
Which is incredibly powerful, and is all the more important *because* it's not connected to gaming any algorithm.
By liking something on Mastodon, you are doing it honestly -- without any agenda at play other than that you like it.
So go ahead. Click that like button for its own sake.
Folks are treating the recent tech layoffs as something spontaneous. They were not. Apparently the current layoffs were orchestrated by hedge funds.
This hedge fund demanded that the big tech companies lay people off because they were being paid too much. Let that one sink in: a hedge fund manager saying that you're being paid too much.
Note that TCI is demanding that Google lay off more people.
@GrantHenninger goodbye Philip. Your presence may have left us, but your memory and that little stain of trash juice will linger for another week or so.
Ivory is out. It’s the Mastodon client by the folks who made Tweetbot and it’s the best of the first crop of clients I’ve tested if you’re in iOS.

@GrantHenninger I kinda feel like he’s been a part of your life long enough that he deserves a name and perhaps some googley eyes.
Toilet paper and eggs used to be so cheap and plentiful that we'd throw them at the houses of people we didn't like.

Thank you, thank you, *thank you* for being more than 20K to follow my art here. It's fantastic.
Personal use bots are starting to do a great job re-tweeting my local NWS site, but they're not 100% accurate. When we're talking weather notices and warnings, that accuracy is highly desired.
So - What is the right way to interact with federal agencies which have yet to migrate off the bird site? I've been working to systemically transfer all of my contacts into federated space, however I completely missed the FAA news cycle this morning as they only exist on the bird site.
