@leeg may you have a great time - I really wish that I could have joined all of you at #fosdem (so many great sessions and nice people).
I fight NSZombies for a living while trying to stay hungry and foolish.
Uhhh nice - Swift is coming to FreeBSD
Damn the other old MBP17 has a bad AMD GPU (and might also have some damage to the logic board).
Mmmm this is vacation. Just replaced a faulty DVD drive in my old MacBook Pro 17 inch. My tiny ultra universal mac application is slowly coming closer. Also did some initial gcc/clang tests on of the older developer machines and I did manage to build a PPC64 and a X86_64 version of the app π€
What a nice project - https://github.com/devernay/xcodelegacy
I'm sorry everyone but we need to take back whatever we all said about Apple not doing machine learning right.
iOS 17's Photos app can now identify *and* explain laundry symbols in pictures and this is amazing. No more need for apps that do this; just swipe up on a photo.
Hello online friends, I'm really considering moving away from using 1Password and I'm looking for an alternative - have any of you (in Europe) considered using https://proton.me/pass
Hi @GeekAndDad - do you mind sharing a link to the implementation that made you cringe a little as I'm also very interested in the same topic. (Especially when you spice macros with other Swift 5.9 features π).
A new Mac platformer game created with Hypercard has been released! You control the titular Blah Blob as you bounce through twenty levels of increasingly devious obstacles.
https://bribrikendall.itch.io/blah-blob or download directly to your vintage Mac from CQ II BBS (cqbbs.ddns.net:6800).
Oh yes baby - git for my old PPC G5 http://mackyle.github.io/git-osx-installer/ next up compiling LibraSSL and wrap it in a framework for PPC/Intel (wish me luck) #retrocomputing #powermac
Okay - I was very late to the party :-D Supported on iOS since version iOS 16 (https://developer.apple.com/apple-home/matter/)
Guess Matter landed in the latest macOS/iOS. Guess it is industry standard for connected homes supported by the major players such as Apple (HomeKit) and Google Home. https://developers.home.google.com/matter
@paul Interesting :-) May I ask what NAS you use? Synology?
I have a number of enums that I think could benefit from variadic generic types (if I understand it correctly).
SE-0393(https://github.com/apple/swift-evolution/blob/main/proposals/0393-parameter-packs.md) is a long and very interesting read. I'm eagerly looking forward to read the complementary proposal for Variadic generic types π #swift #WWDC23
@SmileyKeith and I can confirm; you are not wrong π
And some bonus #swift content: the βBuild robust and resumable file transfersβ talk includes a section on building the server side of resumable uploads using SwiftNIO, complete with sample code.
Turns out Craig can actually play guitar.
