I have transferred my social media activity to Bluesky
@clembyard.bsky.social – for haiku and other personal interest of mine
@weirdmelb.bsky.social – for strange things that people are trying to sell on Facebook marketplace in south eastern Australia
Taking an extended break from social media
If you happen to be on Bluesky I’m @hookturn.bsky.social at least for the moment ~
1923: Hitler’s failed coup.
No real consequences.
No fundamental changes.
1933: Hitler takes power.
I wish I could implant this into everyone’s brain.
Just used the middle subway at Richmond Station and it was a journey into the past. I don't think those tiles have changed since the station was rebuilt for the 1956 Olympics. My Nanna used to have ceramic vases in that colour. #Melbourne
Edmonds Scanner World would make an excellent podcast
Too bad there are so many podcasts already
Maybe we could have a ritual rum addled burning of existing podcasts, and then invoke an ESW podcast as a replacement
If you can, strive to lead a life filled with purpose & wonder, backyard catapults, and rum drunk badgers who like to be catapulted back home at the end of the night.
Don't worry.
Better days are just ahead.
Right after some bad days, even worse days, goblin problems, a haunted zoo, and the curious case of the missing pants.
We can all be kings or queens if we choose to.
Become the King of Nonsense or the Queen of Reading All The Books, The King of Sweatpants & Ennui or The Queen of Enchanted Daggers & Croissants.
It's all up to you.

Added bonus: nice in salads.
Shave the fennel. Add some segments of orange (or other citrus) and some of the juice. Maybe a few halved olives if you have them. Put a few of the fennel fronds over the top to make it look fancy.
That’s pretty solid - good prospect of a top 5K finish as other teams start to drop, as long as you don’t get savaged by injury, and that won’t be a bad result in a year when nothing much has gone right
Worst year on record for me I think
I’m just outside top 20K, team complete, but only got 2 trades left for the run home
Sitting 12th in the only league I care about, but looking at the teams above me I don’t think I can threaten even if I have a blessed run from here
Really struggled with cash generation - only got the team complete by downgrading a couple of high priced primos to make money
How are you tracking?
Struggling this year big time. My son is doing a team for the first time this year and he’s beating me by about 10,000 spot’s despite not being sure what he’s doing 🤣
We’re having fun though - might see if we can set up a #AFLSuperCoach group on here when the prices for next season are announced 👍🏼
I'm too tired to be witty, so please choose from the items below and make your own joke!

Cucumber Sandwiches 🥒🥪:
- take real butter out of the fridge and leave it to soften
- if using old fashioned cucumbers they should be peeled (varieties of cucumber with softer skin don’t need to be peeled)
- slice cucumbers, sprinkle them with a bit of white vinegar or white wine vinegar, and leave them for 15-30mins at least
- take slices of fresh white bread, cut off the crusts (save to turn into breadcrumbs later), and spread with butter
- pat dry the cucumber (no need to rinse), arrange on slice of bread, add a little salt and pepper, and top with a second slice of buttered bread
- cut into elegant segments (I favour rectangles to triangles for cucumber sandwich for some reason)
- cover with a tea towel or similar if you are not going to eat immediately (the bread dries surprisingly quickly)
