If you are someone who would go to Pride, and your local Pride celebration included a couple of early hours, in cooler temperatures with minimal environmental noise, maybe called "Quiet Pride", how would you respond?

@4censord if i was still on a single user instance i might actually do it then just to test that report federation worked correctly (the firefish ui for that was always a bit confusing since the "send to remote" toggle would always self-reset)

but i doubt that the wetdry.world team have those sorts of issues

@izzy the only fan in my room is one of those reciprocating desk fans that i drag out and plug in with the cord having basically no slack, should it get absurdly hot. then i have to aim it so the airstream actually passes over my body, and at that point i cant have any form of covering (which does not help me get to sleep) except partially to get some control over the cooling (otherwise its a bit too strong)

@izzy it was a bit under 35 degrees c today in the uk

it wasnt comfortable, but it was tolerable. then again, i was sitting an exam in a room with no air conditioning, wearing a shirt with full-length sleeves and full-length trousers

with clothes with better passive cooling i could probably tolerate that sort of temperature for extended periods, provided that i have somewhere that is actively cooled to sleep (i always have trouble getting to sleep in hot weather, which is not helped by the fact that i live in a room at the top of my familys house (which has four floors, the topmost of which is subject to extremes of temperature so its always freezing in the winter which is tolerable since i just put more blankets on my bed, and boiling in the summer which is less tolerable))

@izzy its got trans rights and the ping to your minecraft server is lower

i see no downsides (apart from thermal management actually id probably have to figure something out for that)

@izzy and unfortunately that meddling "speed of light" thing from physics means that i cant really reduce my latency without moving, unless i was to literally dig a tunnel through the earths core and shoot laser beams through it

@izzy i cant really move countries for at least the next three years (university, assuming i actually did well at my a levels)

then after that i hopefully have a computer science degree (which from what ive read would be helpful if i wanted to move to australia, which i might well do if the trans rights situation here in the uk does not see improvement within the next couple of years)
