It started because I was trying to use the streamlit profiler only to discover that there was a known error with it and Python 3.9.7. Not remembering I hadn't upgraded to 3.10, I started that process only to realize that apt no longer worked because it was pointing at 21.10. and then the OS upgrade portion of @pop_os_official couldn't identify any distro upgrades. And then the instructions on the website didn't work. And I rebooted and terminal stopped working ...
