Last week I received some shocking news: 90% of Britons are unaware of just how little ancient woodland still remains.

It takes knowing about an issue to care and take action. The Government is deciding how to spend our £1 billion on woodlands and right now our ancient woodlands could be left without any support. With the clock ticking, we’re up against it to show the Government that the public cares about our ancient woodlands and wants to see them brought back to life.

But there’s still hope. The polling data also revealed that once people knew about our vanishing ancient woodlands, the majority wanted the Government to do more to protect our precious woods. We need all of us to know and care if we are going to win this.
