New Crystal update includes animated gifs when you view Mastodon feeds!
Choose whether gifs are included in slideshows from the “…” menu while playing a slideshow, or by pressing and holding on a gif thumbnail

New #TestFlight build for @CrystalApp for Apple TV supports animated gifs from Mastodon & other Fediverse servers.
You can browse and open them like any other images, and if you enable “Auto-play animated GIFs" in your Mastodon settings (and your accessibility settings allow it), they'll appear in slideshows too.

A note on compatibility: I'm calling version 1.0 "Crystal for Mastodon", but it *should* work with other Fediverse servers that have a similar API like #Pixelfed, #GoToSocial, and so on – I just haven't tested these thorougly yet, so I can't promise everything will work.
