Today's snippet is from the upcoming chapter of In Wolf's Clothing!

Hua Cheng brought him to his office to retrieve his original collar, and to give him some news. “Gege, I’ve arranged for a guard to be stationed at your building, and your apartment is clear from that disgusting scent. It has also been looked over for any strange devices, and the locks have been changed. If you’re satisfied enough with that, you may return to your apartment tonight.”
A guard?! If he’d been just a regular employee, Xie Lian would have found it sweet and reassuring, but as an undercover agent, it was just one more pair of eyes on him and his contact in the building. Though, he supposed as long as the guard stayed in the lobby or outside, it shouldn’t impede his work. It wasn’t like he went back and forth to the agency or had any visitors.

The people in puqi village have stuffed buns ready for the child and everything. Some of the scraps they collect happen to be broken toys that are easy enough to repair. When they take home their treasures, Hua Cheng even teaches how to paint the toys over once they're fixed so they look new and shiny. Those are the toys their child loves the most since they worked on them together

I keep seeing the "let's go do this with Mama!" And first thing that comes to my brain is Xie Lian hand in hand with his small child to go scrap collecting for fun
