Hunters Point 1914
You know I'm obsessed with the development at Hunters Point, so I had to buy this glass copy negative aerial view showing the shipyard and hilltop before any of it. The main development there didn't happen until the 1930s, more one this later. #sfhistory #sfmemory

Northeast on Market From Church, July 5, 1927
I look at a lot of old pictures as you know, often I will use the landscape, street grade buildings, and other clues to help locate a historical picture. Here's one where it's almost impossible to do any of that. This is Market Street, the buildings on the left are on the site of the Safeway Parking lot. The first hill across Reservoir Street is where the Safeway is. The Second hill will have the US Mint built that within 10 years. (SFMTA Photo Archive - George Fanning) #sfhistory

@mazz certainly not, i would never do that. Sometimes I correct the exposure or color for slides that have deteriorated, but never would I colorize a black and white image

Union Square, 1948

The Union Square Garage was pretty new, built in 1941, and apparently was packed full in 1948. What I don't understand is why all the cars are the same color. #sfhistory #sfmemory
