May we practice that endurance today — and every day.

2025-11-16

Jesus closes the passage with:
“By your endurance you will gain your lives.”
Endurance = active compassion.
Endurance = refusing systems that harm.
Endurance = saying yes when a parent needs formula, and yes to a world shaped by dignity.

Marjorie Suchocki reminds us,
“God works with the world as it is to bring it toward what it can be.”

John Cobb wrote,
“God’s power is the call toward life, never the force that crushes it.”
When we choose fear or scarcity, we side with the collapsing stones.

And politically? Both parties keep advancing policies that further marginalize the poor. Poverty is regulated instead of relieved.

This week’s baby-formula experiment made it painfully clear: a woman posing as a single mother called houses of worship for help.
Nearly every non-Christian house of worship said yes. Only about 27% of Christian churches did.
A gospel of welcome met with a culture of suspicion.

On this World Day of the Poor, that feels close to home.

Today’s Gospel (Luke 21:5–19) opens with Jesus pointing at the Temple — the center of religious life — and saying it won’t stand forever.
Not as a threat, but as truth: systems built on exclusion eventually crumble.

Convincing my left-wing former close friends on
Facebook that Charlie Kirk wasn't a Nazi or a
fascist is completely futile because I can't even
convince them that I'M not a Nazi or a fascist, and
many have known me since early grade school.

Gone are the days of waking up at 3 AM EST and crashing websites! The pre-ordering process gets smoother and smoother each year. Ended up going with the big boy Pro Max this year for that battery life. So glad they made 256 a base so no more upgrade fee for me and for the first time ever I went silver! I just wasn’t feeling the blue and heard two different reviewers referred to the silver as a storm trooper color way and that’s all I needed to hear 😂 #iphone17promax #iPhone #iphonepreorder

Stanley’s work has been a North Star for me through years of deconstructing, rebuilding, and figuring things out (though I’m 99% sure he’d side-eye the “deconstructing” label 😂). Grateful for voices that challenge and shape us, even when they’d never claim to. Time to disappear into these pages!

New running shoes? Cool. Latest tech gadget? Fun. But nothing—seriously, nothing—hits like a fresh book arriving at my door. 📚✨ Just got the next read off my list, and I’m obsessed.

This Sunday, let’s lean into the sacred call to shed old skins and embrace the radiance of becoming. Together, we are threads in the tapestry God is weaving—a future where love’s light transfigures all shadows. 🌄

Marjorie Hewitt Suchocki echoes this dynamism: “God is the creative act that lures the world toward possibilities of harmony and renewal.” Every moment hums with divine potential—will we collaborate?

As Stanley Hauerwas writes, “The church doesn’t have a social strategy; the church is a social strategy.” We are the embodied story of a God who transfigures violence into peace, fear into communion.

Process theology invites us to see this mountaintop encounter as a cosmic glimpse: God, the ever-creative Lover, coaxing creation toward new horizons of beauty and justice. The Transfiguration isn’t a distant miracle but an invitation to participate in the Spirit’s unfolding work of healing and hope.

Transfiguration Sunday: A Dance of Divine Possibility ✨

On this Transfiguration Sunday, we celebrate the mysterious moment when Jesus’ divinity shimmered through his humanity—a revelation not of static glory, but of God’s ceaseless, relational becoming.

Views from the tech table… Hillary McBride’s lecture tonight (Holy Hurt: Understanding Spiritual Trauma & The Process of Healing) was amazing! Just what the soul needed!

“I see you.
I hear me.
I feel my ancestor’s stories.
My ancestors change me.
I change my ancestors.“
