(the shark is a plush shark, and the surgery was a stitch, which is terrible, but also hidden, so it’s okay)

instead of using country flags in your language picker, use flags of subnational divisions where that language is spoken

quick mockup with Japanese (Tokyo), Hindi (New Delhi), Chinese (Shanghai), and Portuguese (São Paulo). these are some of the largest cities in the world, so the flags/seals should be easy to recognize.
