Mastadon and Blue Sky both operate like a Twitter replacement. This doesn't feel like a Facebook or Myspace replacement. :/ this makes me a lil sad.
Phone broke. Got a new one. Redownloaded this app. Another wave of users is gonna hit soon now that Facebook is wildin
@allenstenhaus I have found that when we are born with privilege, we should use that privilege for good. Lol
Crime rises. Opioid and overdose epidemic rises. Homelessness rises.
People feel as though they have nothing to lose. Everything is life or death when you live life an hour at a time and you're unsure how you'll survive. That is reality for many people. The only way to resolve it is to allow people to heal and be treated like human beings deserving of a better life. Deserving of food, shelter, medicine, and care. Basic needs.
Until we do that for everyone, together, equally, suffering continues and crime continues and giving up hope continues.
I feel festive. Here is a throwback.
Once we get rid of the middle man (private for profit insurance companies) and deflate all costs by regulating them to be accessible to all, using universal, streamlined, single payer healthcare which covers all citizens equally, those BILLIONS go back in our pockets and back in the pockets of doctors and nurses who deserve it as well.
No premiums, no lack of insurance, no denied claims, no medical debt or bankruptcy, no denied life saving medical procedures or medications Lives and money saved.
When resources that are infinite are controlled and resources that are finite are hoarded, we need to look at who is doing the controlling and who is doing the hoarding. Your answer is going to be the enemy of the working class and the proprietors of class war. That enemy is a long list of complicit politicians, CEOs, and other enforcers of capitalism such as landlords and cops. These are the class traders and class war mongers. You can see the propaganda machine in all of its glory right now, testing out multiple different narratives for Luigi to taint the potential jury pool and to pacify his supporters. It doesn't matter what Luigi's political background is or his family wealth. He was hurt by the same system and the same capitalist agenda that we are all hurt by. This is what class unity looks like and it's the first step to forcing lasting change.
Yep, still got it
@RD4Anarchy @linuxgnome @DoomsdaysCW @FinalOverdrive Thank you for this! Some very fun material
@WernerRhein I have to say, this sort of discussion is important. Nuance is important and should be explored casually and openly
@deirdrebeth ah. A wide umbrella 😅
@n_dimension bro
@DoomsdaysCW Oh yeah I'm familiar with this one. I'm very strongly non-theistic however I still respect the hell out of this
@earthwarrior that makes me happy to hear, as someone else did the same for me. I am still learning. But that's what I love about opening up to discovering new systems, ideologies, definitions - it's a continuous learning experience. No system or idea is perfect because people aren't. But it's important that we keep striving for better and figure that out together, I feel.
@woo that's an interesting take. I'm concerned about the bit about people not being equal. Obviously there are terrible human beings out there- they currently run Wall Street and insurance companies. But fundamentally all human beings deserve human rights and opportunities the same as anyone else.
