@Geojoek It's worse when they are making QSOs in a pileup and they don't say their calling, and instead say "QRZ?" I hate it.
Hi! My name is Alberto, I have been a #hamradio operator since August 2023. I love to work on HF in SSB, but I'm starting to use CW. I love to do activations and contacts in the field, surrounded by nature, but always with 100 W! :P

#EH5LGBT on air in SSB! Try to find us! :P
@Kb9vbr Submarines On The Air... something about that doesn't sound right... :PP
Jokes apart, what a nice experience, you lucky man! :D
@n1kdo FT8?
@IU1KGS I tried but it never saves safely, it winds up with the other cables, unwinds itself... Maybe I'm a bit clumsy xDD
Woohoo! Jersey Island in 80m! One of the few QSOs I have made in 80, and what a QSO! ^·^
Here is how my setup was the day of the QSO, in a little park in a nerby town :)
@oe1omk HAHAHAHAHAHA
For 10m we have the Human Beacon™ avaiable for the job! xDD
Proposal for a great new tool for testing propagation to the United States:
An NCDXF-like network of beacons worldwide that take turns to transmit “Is this frequency in use, please?” at varying power levels on 14300kHz.
@DB3BEF And of course this:
@DB3BEF I think that is because of the "coldness" of the contact, the computer does it all, and only sends the callsign and RST.
In other modes, more human "speech" can be done.
Besides all of the automation and Robot FT8 people that leave the Radio and Computer to make contacts without any human intervention...
@DB3BEF <33
@DB3BEF U fuckers are going to make me learn FT8 at the end, right? xDDDD
@DB3BEF @MrAldisaADS I'm answering from my Ham Account :P
@june Nice. I started HT too, with a venerable UV-5R, and later I jumped straight to my FT-891, so I can do radio in the field and at home with 100 W!
Now I'm saving for my home antenna setup, and later I will have a nice Base Radio too! ^·^
@Geojoek It was too late, I was too tired, I read "Spanish stations" and no "Spanish SPEAKING stations"... whoops! ^·^'
@april_marina @MrAldisaADS What is your Ham account? :o
@Jeremy Ignore my other post, a picture is better that 1000 words :P
Nice setup! I may use the design for a 6m antenna, as my rig has it, and I haven't done anything with it yet!
@Jeremy Oh! Nice! But how high do you extend the rod? My rod bends with the lightest of loads :S
@kb9ens I'm thinking about buying the 7000 Tactical, right now I'm using a carbon fishing rod, of 12m, which only 7/8 are useful, and even with only that height, it bends a lot.
I'm a bit afraid this is also going to bend too much, what weight have you put into the mast? For comparison, this is my current fishing rod, only sustaining my EFHW made with 0.75 cm electrical wire:
@Jeremy Which antenna did you use? I see a suspicious fishing rod... :P
