Today I learned that a role I interviewed for, a company who then told me they were "looking for a different profile", hired a younger white man with less experience and no education. I'm so sick of this shit. This is why there are so few experienced women in leadership roles.

Should I put them on public blast?

Reframing 'experience' to mean 'more experiences'. More experiences means more success but also more failures, and I am often more interested in how much I've learned from what hasn't worked than what has.

Any recs for an NYC-based offset printer that does good quality work for not a ton of money? Normal formats.

...From a job posting today for a brand designer (which is 1 job):
"Additional skills not required but a plus to have: video editing; illustration; and photography" (for a grand total of 4 different careers)

If any fellow gravestone-lovers are willing to share, I'm looking for a few high-res images of graves that simply state "father" / "mother" / "daughter" / "stillborn" etc., or any interesting variation to incorporate into a non-commercial type project

*since I'm unemployed but can't quit making type

"Avoid grandiosity. I am often turned off by the way many AI risk public figures (not to mention AI company leaders) talk about the post-AGI world, as if it’s their mission to single-handedly bring it about like a prophet leading their people to salvation. I think it’s dangerous to view companies as unilaterally shaping the world, and dangerous to view practical technological goals in essentially religious terms." —Dario Amodei

@soypunk What they're proposing will subject young people to incredibly invasive 'checks' ranging from genital to chromosome 'confirmation'. These people are fucking disgusting creeps who need to keep their hands and minds off our children and young folks.

Today’s trifecta in one job listing:
• 3-6 years experience
• this is a leadership position
• salary: $70k

2024 was a sprint to support progressive causes for non-profits across the country who fight for reproductive freedom, voting rights, and bodily autonomy. Here are a few of my favorite projects I made for Social Goods!

This article perplexes me—HOW a font is used determines a lot more about accessibility than the forms themselves. I'm not sure how you have a conversation about accessibility without once mentioning optical sizing, contrast, scale, use, or cultural norms of reading. They conflate legibility, readability, and accessibility. I have no issue with the typeface, but it's couched in a lot of foregone conclusions. itsnicethat.com/articles/olivi

@glintveinlina There was an old tweet from @ECS I wish I had printed and framed because I can’t find it anymore. It said something like:
“You can try to get an answer from a type person that isn’t ‘it depends’. You can always try.”

I knew that @mwichary was looking into the background of a typeface I only knew as Letraset’s Engineering Standard, but I had no idea how deep the rabbit hole went! THIS is how you do it. 😍 aresluna.org/the-hardest-worki
