Six relatively easy ways to support Palestine and the Palestinians in Gaza:
1. Donate to personal GoFundMes, and share them, to support with winter clothes, incredibly expensive food, and exit visas. If you don't know where to start, go to https://gazafunds.com/, you'll get a random GFM to donate to. ANY AMOUNT WELCOME.
2. eSIMs are the only way for Palestinians in Gaza to keep in contact.
Donate eSIM directly: http://gazaesims.com with tutorials. Min. 3 or 5 GB.
Or via Crips for eSIM: https://chuffed.org/project/crips-for-esims-for-gaza or Geeks Keeping Gaza Connected: https://www.gofundme.com/f/keeping-gaza-connected ANY AMOUNT WELCOME.
3. Join the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement. Check your local branche: https://bdsmovement.net/get-involved/what-to-boycott Use the Boycat app!
4. Keep talking about Palestine! Put pressure on politicians and unions. Share information from https://decolonizepalestine.com/
5. Check your locale pro-Palestine groups and see if there's a way for you to join them in actions.
6. There are Palestinian led organisations like Workshops 4 Gaza, the Sameer Project, Palestine Medical Relief Project, and many more who can also use your support.

@siftinsand I’m growing them too for the first time. They’re a bit small though. Not sure what they need to get bigger.
@stufromoz sorry to hear that. Life must have been really challenging for them and their family and friends. I feel sad when I hear these stories because with the right support ADHDers can thrive. I’m discovering this now at 53. I can’t imagine living another 30 years without the support I have in place now. The past 50 odd years have been hard enough for me and those around me.
#PleaseBoost! It's exciting to be starting up a new regional #Mastodon for British Columbia when there is so much change and growth in the #OpenSocialWeb #Fediverse!
We're not ready to open up the gates… still setting up the banking stuff among other things.
But if you're in BC and are interested in making your home on this instance please send me or @PhotographyElf a DM and we'll start making a (private) list so that we can let you know when we're ready! (Hoping Jan 1!)
@beno it’s not just an issue in apartments sadly. I’m in a free standing house. If the neighbour 2 door down smokes it can reach us 😢
Ok, I’m confused. Trying to work out which platform to engage with. Lots of people from the dirty bird are heading to Blue Sky. I played there for a bit but like here I had stepped away cause I lost my social media mojo. Managing to be in both platforms seems a lot of work. Curious to know what others are doing? I’ve also given Threads a try but want to ditch that cause… Meta 🙄
Also, I’m an ADHDer I need it to be simple.
@StephZihms That sounds great. Glad to hear you got that support. It would be fantastic if you could share resources. Work are covering my ADHD coaching. I working on how to work with my ADHD better too. I haven’t covered how to engage with my team about it yet.
You have just been awarded an ERC grant and this is the first time in your scientific career that you have to build and manage a big research group? 😱
Join us to discuss matters related to “how to manage a bigger research group” and exchange personal experiences 🙂!
Academics with ADHD, how are you managing the expectation that you can perform like neurotypical academics?
I’m finding it particularly challenging for people without ADHD to understand how complex the impacts are and how overwhelming it can be. Especially when you’ve been masking for years and aren’t able (or willing) to do that anymore.
Perimenopause has worsened my ADHD too, so I’m at increased risk of burnout now. Fun times!
Interested in people’s experiences 🙏🌻
For best performance & employee engagement, organizations should embrace all forms of flexibility:
- Schedule
- Place
- Mode (in person, virtual, hybrid)
- Continuity (allows for leaves of absence)
- Workload (FT, PT, job share)

Lots of people have worried about the COVID vaccines because they were produced so quickly but did this mean they weren’t tested fully? (Spoiler -no). In todays #CovidMythbuster From Independent SAGE I talk about how we made those vaccines so quickly! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQkjMb0-d3g

It’s been a grim summer in the Northern Hemisphere, with fires causing massive damage, smoke blanketing cities and significant loss of life across North America, Europe and now Hawaii. With an El Nino summer approaching, in Australia we need to do all we can to understand and manage our bushfire risk. We’ve developed a new fire management framework that can do just this. #UniMelbPursuit #NationalScienceWeek

Fantastic article on the longevity of Aboriginal oral tradition. For context: Stonehenge is only 5,000 years old.
@blakeheathsnow Yes! Sounds great 🌧️
@thesiswhisperer Congrats! I’ve followed your lead. Looking forward to building a stronger community in a positive place 💪
This is the last day of my Twitter account. I have over 52K followers there, but I can't remain on a platform that pays people like Andrew Tate to post. I do this knowing it significant limits my reach in the academic community, but the standard you walk past is the one you accept.
@academicchatter @lulu_powerful @udl @zenforyen @theADHDAcademic The problem with this approach is that we don’t know how many students are disclosing their ADHD or haven’t been diagnosed. I’d suggest best practice is to design an exam that accommodates neurodivergence.
