It's what I do.
I make maps, and I grow things.

We have a Fire Company in Columbia County called the "Tri-Village Fire Company".
There is not a single village within the Tri-Village Fire Protection District.
@AtanasE
Do Technical and How-To manuals count as books?
17 seems high for the US from my observations.
Should I be surprised that none of my students (20 to 24 years old) know much about Watergate? Or that "Daddy G." in Steely Dan's My Old School refers to G. Gordon Liddy, not Grantley Marshall?
Should they be surprised that I had no idea who Grantley Marshall was until I googled this 3 minutes ago?
@jcarlson Intersection will probably run faster than Split by Line.
Wondering who's the current holder of "The Cartographers".
Don't lose that map!

Agree.
I do not have an exact retirement date set yet.
But I do know, every day that goes by is one day closer to that date.
And an original T trailer, by EP Lyons Ironworks in Manchester NH.
The more people I meet and get to know on a close personal level, the more I realize how many truly emotionally unstable people there are in this world.
And the path to true happiness is to avoid those people at all cost. They will drag you down.
That's one of the reasons I don't have very many friends. And I am, generally, quite happy.
Disgusted with the state of affairs in this country right now.
But otherwise, happy.
Sometimes I think I'd make a good hermit.

You gotta go "Deluxe".
@AtanasE
And I recently had a go-round with Google Cloud Platform. There's apparently no way to talk to, or even chat with, a human being anymore. The AI chat-bot kept spitting out obvious google talking points, letting me know I was the one at fault and there was nothing Google could do about it.
@AtanasE Unfortunately, it's happening faster than you might realize. It's starting to infiltrate my wife's job as a Physician Assistant.
AI is going to ruin this world for everyone.
I remember one job (not one of mine) where the roofers compressor wasn't working. The whole crew had to go home because nobody knew how to nail shingles with just a hammer and nails.
Distantly related thought - I remember back in the late 1980s when I was working construction and pneumatic nailers started replacing the 20 oz. framing hammer. Yes, houses were built faster. But the quality went down, significantly.
