@jackofalltrades there's nothing sadder than a long-term forecast that's right on the nose. It leaves the impression that folks were working to it as a target, instead of against it as a warning.

I don't give a damn if I'm the only one indoors with other people who's wearing a mask (and that's been the case a number of times lately). I've avoided covid so far and, as someone in a higher-risk group, will do my best to maintain that as long as possible.

I've been happy to protect others, but Americans overall have decided that their personal convenience far outweighs the health and lives of millions of others,
