The "labor theory of value" is pseudoscience:
The ONLY way "value" can even approach being quantified is when two individuals consent to exchange M units of X for N units of Y. However, that only establishes a minimum subjective value for X and a maximum subjective value for Y--in a specific context--for ONE of the two participants in the transaction--with "minimum" and "maximum" being reversed for the other party. Were that not the case, there would never be any motivation for two parties to CONSENT to exchange X for Y, because the cost of conducting the exchange transaction would make BOTH of them worse off.
Consent and reciprocity are the two fundamental axioms of ethics, not "equal exchange of value for value," which is scientifically undefined, because it's undefinable.
By socialist logic, any vendor is exploited by his customers, since the vendor did the work, but does not enjoy any profits his customers may earn from using what he sells them.
Even if it's "the workers" who own the factory (or whatever other "means of production,") the communal owners still must exercise propertarian exclusivity against all others, especially including their prospective customers.
Even in Soviet Russia and in Maoist China, property rights still were respected; otherwise, there would have been nothing sold or provided, even by barter, let alone by accepting money as payment: Everything would have been free for the taking.
That said, we have no problem with people deciding to collectively own things, provided it's voluntary, for the same reason we have no problem with stockholders collectively owning IBM. We do have a problem with those stockholders having state-granted immunity from tort, and with the patents, copyrights and other privileges the state grants IBM. But those are separate issues.
So go form all the communes and unions you like. Just don't try to use state-like monopoly power to grant yourselves special privileges.
And reciprocally respect our equal right to peacefully cooperate and collaborate with each other as we prefer.
