So we’re officially in the “empty the basement dehumidifier multiple times per day” part of the summer.
This is why I’m a cold weather guy.
presents another Bogus Mathematical Theorem (h/t Strong Bad), that I like to call the Hot Take Intelligence Quotient:
The stupidity of a hot take is directly proportional to the temperature of said take, and inversely proportional to the freshness of the take.
stupidity(take) = k * temp(take)/freshness(take)
@Pwnallthethings "The law isn't going to fix it." Pinnable/evergreen.
@Popehat suddenly concerned you might actually miss it…
@dmitri To the extent that the IC even wants that sort of recognition. I would imagine that at best they don’t care, or, more likely, they’re content to have any US involvement in anything about this war be no one’s first thought.
@benjaminwittes I’ve read the rationale on this from @Gargron, though I’m not quite getting it. Seems like quotes and replies are different use cases and not really substitutes for one another? I’m bemused by all the (deserved) slagging of the birdsite for making verification devoid of all meaning (‘cause when every account is verified, no account is). But Mastodon doesn’t exactly have an answer for that problem! At least not yet?
Hm, so Mastodon doesn’t replace links to images with the images themselves, does it?
Don’t have to leave Twitter if you’ve never been on it in the first place.
Been using it ever since the Firebird days. I welcome the influx of Chrome users.
Clemson almost brought back “pulling a Clemson” there. For old times’ sake. Alas, it was not to be.
I always get suspicious when a place, restaurant, attraction, or whatever claims that they’re “award-winning” without elaboration. Like… what award, exactly? From who?
Locked up my bike… microseconds before my brain was like, “Hey, did you remember to grab your keys this morning?”
Thanks, brain. Just impeccable timing.
