@kbob Not all.... only some. It's about simply acknowledging untruths, and allowing oneself to have empathy. Some people can't do that.

Coworker this morning mentioned something about immigrants saying "well if they would just be legal". I corrected him by saying "no that's absolutely wrong. It's not illegal to come to this country. They're undocumented they're not illegal. Also, do you have any idea how difficult it is for someone to become a citizen and all of the crap they have to go through? No you don't."

@mitten fully agree! I love Soul Coughing so much! I have everything they've ever done and I've seen them a few times.
One of my favorite lines is from True Dreams of Wichita:
"A Brooklyn legacy in the asphalt stocks push out dead air from the parking garage as you stand with your keys and your cool head of silence as you grip her love like a driver's license."

I experimented with some watercolor in the studio today attempting to emulate the way Maxfield Parrish painted mountains. He used oils and layers of varnish between the colors.
The dark color was done first, then the lighter color. What I learned from this is that it would be better to put the lighter color first. That way I can better define the shapes of the rocks and valleys.

Hey. While I'm giving y'all the whole "Black people experience this every day, it's not new for us," let me give you one more important Black nugget of info:

"You don't have to watch the video."

Seriously. You don't.

Your life won't be improved by seeing it. Especially if you already oppose ICE.

@MLE_online I knew two young women in Hawaii that built a house with one wall made of wine bottles. It was beautiful as the sunlight played over it throughout the day.

@MLE_online Neat! I remember placing a carrot top in a small shallow plate of water when I was a kid just to watch it sprout new growth. I seem to remember my Mom showing me this. It instilled an understanding of how plants grow and survive.

"Every age has its fascism: the premonitory signs can
be seen wherever the concentration of power denies
citizens the possibility and the ability to express
themselves and implement their will. This is achieved
in many ways, not only by the terror of police
intimidation, but also by denying or distorting information,
polluting justice, spreading in many subtle ways
nostalgia for a world in which order reigned supreme,
and in which the security of the privileged few rested
on forced labor and the silence of the many."
