Managed to explain #ProportionalRepresentation to my daughter’s first grade class today with the help of this sweet map that we made and a model parliament that I decided to start making at 9pm last night. Didn’t get as far as explaining multi-member districts but managed to show how small differences in the popular vote can mean huge differences in seat share. Took the props to work and seems that they delight adults and children equally.

How can Kier Starmer talk about sanctions on #israel settlers one day and then consider putting RAF lives at risk in support of those same settlers the next day? It’s clear Israel no longer considers the UK to be an ally. Otherwise they would have informed them of their plans to attack Iran. Worse than this, Starmer will be risking the lives of #Cypriot civilians who have patiently tolerated the presence of British bases on their territory since they won their struggle for independence.

Daniell Smith’s separatist push shows the danger of big-tent parties. Even though separatism is unpopular, her one-party majority gives her full control. With proportional representation, conservatives who oppose it could form their own party and be heard. #abpoli
