@RYStorm šÆ it pains me when I see people waiting for the āperfect timeā to do something they want to do when theyāre the only one stopping them from doing it.
@RYStorm Iām sure the process for making it is very polished!
My hero this week is Representative Zooey Zephyr of the Montana House of Representatives, who has had enough of weird laws from scared politicians that want to control all aspects of life, right down to the clothes we wear.
Ms. Zephyr is a transgender person, so she knows what she is talking about. And with her speech, she kills the latest bill that would otherwise have limited people's freedom to dress as they please.
More power to you @ZoAndBehold! šŖš¼
@rmondello as long as you drink the special milk beforehand, otherwise the more you swing the less time youāll last
Rereading this makes me wonder how the light-bodied coffee expert called āfruit bombā was actually tea
BREAKING: The light-bodied āfruit bombā coffee expert has been praising is actually tea.
@mattiem Iām in BC and Iāve worked for a company with an Australian office for the last 8 years and a shocking amount of my mental energy goes to knowing what time it is in Sydney and how to fit whatever collaboration we need in our 2-4 hours of overlap, depending on daylight savings
@RYStorm I worked with a lighting supervisor that once said āin the real world we spend many thousands of dollars on cameras and lenses to get rid of noise and aberrations and get a perfect image, but in animation we intentionally add it all backā
@mattiem Recently I asked for help at work for one of the weirdest issues Iāve run into in years. I listed all the things I already tried, including āwent away from my desk to have lunchā.
@_Davidsmith what about a macro that you could add to a class or function that checked the AST for that kind of math and threw an error if it was there? Like `at:checkCalendricalFallacies`
After five years of using my 2020 Intel MacBook Air I finally got the M4 model. I think Xcodeās xip extracted in about two minutes. It took about 30 on the Intel model. This thing is a silent beast.
@siracusa I design and build custom speakers for clients and someone came to me with the same complaint as you, saying āI want new speakers for my computer but commercial ones sound bad, look offensive, or are too big. Helpā.
The result was these (7.5āx4.75āx9ā WHD), which sit horizontally (on thin stands) below the computer monitors with a woofer on the bottom and full range driver at the front. In-room they play to flat +-1dB to 40Hz. Unfortunately I never got a photo of the pair of them.
@christianselig Epic?
@joshdholtz @SwiftLeeds thank you for this talk š Iāve been stuttering my whole life and have had very similar experiences (I pick what to order, my wife calls the restaurant to place it), but I did my first conference presentation this year. Sometimes I feel alone with these challenges, but it feels comforting snd uplifting seeing someone else work with them and despite them.
@kaidombrowski @harlan thatās looking seriously cool. Great job!
take me down to parallel city
and the girls are pretty
where ordering is not guaranteed
@airspeedswift *squints* oh, inside you are two vowels.
After building an app in Swift Playgrounds on an M1 iPad Pro Iām moving it to Xcode for more development, but my Mac is an Intel MacBook Air⦠immediately I noticed:
1. The laptop gets hot
2. Thereās a constant whoosh from its fan
3. Everything is slow
4. The battery drained in about two hours
An Apple Silicon Mac looks really nice right now.
