My patience was rewarded. There's a much larger app ecosystem now around Mastodon than a few months ago.
Awesome!
Existing day by day. I read academic works about Wehrmacht doctrine for fun.

V-E Day: The annual celebration of my innate villainy.
Yes, I know it's a petty thing compared to everything else going on. Let me gripe a little.
Oh, man.
"Smarty has special calls for you: {redelim} for a left curly brace ({), and {rdelim} for a right curly brace (})."
Obvious and intuitive.
The temptation to roll my own webstore solution is rising.
This brave new world of containers (LXC, Docker), DevOps tools, and whatnot is confusing.

Maybe next time, Red Hat.
"Enter your email to watch this quick start video!"
No. Fuck you, Red Hat.
@sidawson I'm only encountering Python issues because of SaltStack. But I'll take the advice to heart once/if I write Python!
@stochastix I'm writing state files / whatever SaltStack calls its recipes. Dealing with Python is a bug in this case, not a feature. :D
For a language that heavily depends on whitespace, Python doesn't have very informative error messages regarding indentation errors.
Also: Python is picky about *where* YAML is indented.
This is going to be so much fun.
@GinnyMcQueen And something we need more of in this world.
Speaking of eCommerce software.
WTF do PHP-based things still recommend world write and execute permissions for, well, anything?
C'mon, people.
Now that Easter is done with, the joys of not only spring cleaning are upon us, but also getting a little business off the ground.
And ho boy, the world of eCommerce software is horrible. Bad documentation, old documentation, missing documentation.
It's bad enough I'm tempted to roll my own web store. Gah.
@DenubisX Awoo me if you do. I'll join that kind of exile!
@DenubisX That's true. The beauty of open source, and all. Despite not running my own instance, I *do* feel a greater sense of ownership within the sphere of all of us.
@DenubisX Yet. But a nice reprieve to the madness on the birdsite, so I savor. Every. Moment. Of. Peace.
Once upon a time, before Nov 9, I was able to somewhat trust denials from the executive branch, at least in the big things like war. Sure, some healthy skepticism went a long way, but the media were mostly trustworthy, too.
Now, neither NBC's reporting on a possible preemptive strike against North Korea, nor Pentagon denials of the same are believable.
A rat in a maze with no exit.
I really need to work on my backup strategy.
Step 1: Develop a strategy.
Step 2: Use strategy to replace the mess that I use.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: World domination.
I am still working on diversifying my home TL, so if you do not identify as white, I probably want to follow you.
Give me a holler, so I can follow you!
The rest of you? Boost please! :revolving_hearts: :arrows_clockwise:
@jeffsonstein Oh jeez. A perfect storm of way too much water. Yuck.
You win this round, sinus infection.
