@expert@attractive.space Alright, that does limit down the potential problems. I'll see what I can do when I have the time (and have finally submitted all pending changes)

@expert@attractive.space But you are using the native builds of Kaiteki, right?
@expert@attractive.space Yes the OS (and optionally the browser as well) do very much matter since Kaiteki has several methods to move from app registration to OAuth prompt. (I can give you all the charts and flow diagrams you want, to demonstrate how complicated authenticating is at times)
@expert@attractive.space On what OS/platform are you trying to sign in?
@expert@attractive.space I am having troubles replicating it on mastodon.social because their web login form is broken 🥴
@expert@attractive.space What's causing it? Browser not supporting protocol handlers?
If @Kainoa@firefish.social was still with us here, he would be happy to see his feature request finally materialize fully.
Polishing the UI changes that added a search bar, of course we want to make it look good.
@envelopeme@annihilation.social That's why many of them are being removed and at the same time the client is being polished.
Is it worth the localization effort to implement options to choose between favorite and like, and between, boost and repeat?
I heard becoming a developer for Kaiteki gives you free programming socks...
only a rumor... I don't know if it's true
imagine installing kaiteki on your smart toilet..
I mean... it works?? but you cannot sign in without a web browser...
I just confirmed that Kaiteki can run on Android TV... but....
why?
@tetra@meowcity.club But yes, it's not gonna happen anytime soon officially from our side.
@tetra@meowcity.club Technically someone can just take the Kaiteki source code and the Flutter SDK, and patch it up and build it themselves.
@tetra@meowcity.club Of course, there are other people probably able to do all of this. But all the communication with people willing to do so, so far has been pretty slow and there's no close collaboration at this point. So it's not been great.
@tetra@meowcity.club I certainly don't have the money to put it up on the App Store, nor the hardware to properly test and optimize it.
(insert shilling for sideloading here)
But Kaiteki won't exist on Google Play or Microsoft Store either, since (alleged) requirements to provide private information publicly.
