Quietly positive today. All the design software I haven’t used for over five years is coming back to me. I’m able to create design proofs for our business. I’m able to work at home. I have a new quartet of phenomenally talented musicians that I’m singing with, one of whom arranged a song especially for me. And it’s Friday and I have a mug of nice chai tea latte warming my hands and tummy.

You can condemn Hamas’ atrocities without condoning Israel’s response. Opposing the killing of innocent civilians is a stance that can be taken without being mutually exclusive to only opposing it on one side.

When I was first engaged, my radical leftist secular Jewish future mother in law disliked me because she assumed I was racist due to being born and raised in the US south. The exact assumptions she wanted people to stop making about black and brown people, she made about me. (Side note, she's my biggest fan now and vice versa.)
All that to say, don't make assumptions about how all Jewish people feel about what's going on today. Some oppose terrorism in all forms, and that's not anti-Semitic.

Things are in crazy flux with our business. But this morning I was reminded that I have been doing intentional spellwork for better jobs and better pay. And this is what came from it. This is what I manifested. I need to see it is a POSITIVE development that I made happen not by magic but by intention. This is my affirmation for today.
Yes it feels nuts, but this is what I asked for coming to fruition.

Was the young man who murdered Ryan Carson on drugs? Ryan advocated for safer spaces for drug users, clean needles, and testing for dangerous additives at sites where users could also get help reversing their addictions. Was he suffering a mental health crisis? Ryan advocated for mental health and harm reduction resources in NYC. Everything he was working for might have prevented the tragedy that happened, if more attention and money were paid to the needs of the broken.
People who advocate for police reform don't deserve to get murdered any more than people who don't believe they should pay their taxes deserve for their house to burn down without publicly funded fire fighting resources. Be kind.

We are at a tough stage in the changeover from manufacturing to outsourcing. We're running out of supplies that we can't restock because we aren't going to need them in a few weeks. Today is one employee's last day. We are having to honor pricing we put together when we were doing certain things in house, but now they're outsourced and cost more. In days past when things got rough I always wanted to give up and go home. What will I do when home is also the office?
My husband gets so frustrated with me when I get excited about something, because I get the best case scenario in my head and then I'm let down when my grandiose dreams don't come true and he has to deal with the fallout.
But I'm allowing myself to feel the slightest tingle of excitement over the changes we're making to our family business, and starting to believe it might actually be a change for the good. My attitude toward it is going to make a difference so it's important I'm positive.
