@annecavicchi I used an app called MailStore. It's mostly used for backing up e-mail, but you can backup your GMail and restore it to your own e-mail.

If you already have the e-mails saved as MBOX then you can skip the backup/restore process and just take the MBOX e-mails and then export to either EML or PST.

After building a new webcam, I decided the next thing I need to do is build a streaming box. It'll be a macro keypad with an audio interface and capture card. This should be a fun project.

I want to get back into game development, but the part that always causes me to give up is the actual game assets. I wanted to just find somebody on Fiverr to work with, but now I have to worry about AI images being used which is a bad look for game devs these days.

I would never sell any games I make, so my budget is limited to my personal savings account which makes me think it’s not worth even attempting.

I built a webcam using a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, the HQ Camera for it, and the 6mm lens. I 3D printed the case, but I forgot from which site.

The camera automatically outputs to the HDMI port when it powers on so I just use a cheap sub-$15 capture card to stream the video feed into OBS.

Will add a fan this weekend for cooling.

The worst part about traveling is adjusting to the zone changes. So sleepy!

The conference I'm at right now is extremely AI focused, and it makes me so mad to see how bad consumer versions of AI (i.e. ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, etc...) are after seeing how Gen AI/LLMs are being used in science and in enterprise IT. It's not even close to how accurate and powerful these are compared to even the pro plans of what OpenAI and Google offer (even though they use the same models).

Even simple things like refactoring code to run on an HPC to be more energy efficient has resulted in insane realistic savings without impacting performance.

It makes me want to focus more on AI, but it really is a full-time job and I don't have the cycles to spare at work aside from maintaining the infrastructure for it for others to use.

@travis dang I wish I would have known, I wrote a colo module for WHMCS a few years back that did network configuration (VLAN setup) and Observium configuration which can be converted to LibreNMS I’m sure.
