Walgreens is restricting sales of abortion pills because they (probably correctly) believe they're more likely to face consequences for defying conservatives than for defying liberals, despite liberals official control of the Presidency and Senate and nationwide popular majorities. I have found that this does not always work 100% of the time for me, but when it does, it's a real time saver! Always remember to include alt-text in the images you post to Mastodon.

I don't have the reference handy but I saw recently that the sudden anti-trans vendetta by the Repnazican party is absolutely a strategy following other nazi takeovers. Bannon was involved in decision to target trans people vs. going with white supremacy like Gosar. Bsically picking a "soft target" that would not have much active defense like other groups. They need to rile up the maggots, get them out there with pitchforks and torches. Scare tactics about mythical "grooming."

I've always known this, but just reminded of it again as we returned some books for the kid, and walked in to browse.
Apparently our local library also checks out portable wifi hotspots and laptops, and has access to some Coursera classes, and the Great Courses catalogs.
Nice.
More than what content they have, they are social safe spaces, with services for the community. Libraries really are one of the best examples of the community helping everyone.
