@benjamin_e Yeah, the "get;" is shorthand for a public getter for a private variable. So this...
private int _myVar = 2;
public int myVar { get { return _myVar; } }
...becomes this...
public int myVar { get; private set; } = 2;
It saves you the trouble of making the second variable. The part I didn't know about previously was that you could initialize the hidden private variable in the same line (the "= new();" bit in my screenshot).
@GrantMeStrength I think if you *get into* a Cybertruck, you might as well be dead in real life.
@molly0xfff "You may not be able to do your due diligence. Find someone who can!" is the perfect encapsulation of what happens to libertarian ideas in the real world.
@metaphase You're wrong. Abortion rights have won 6 out of 6 in ballot measures since Roe was overturned, in some deep red states, too.
What it doesn't signal is a shift to the Democratic party. The big margins of victory on these have been due to a large constituency of Republicans who support abortion rights. Polling has actually said this for years, but abortion rights are popular across political spectrum.

@TheEnbyWitch Yeah, the latest one was only finalized in Sepember. Not sure about availability outside the US.
@ianrbuck I was there for a one day game developer seminar. I mostly took my bike just because I realized I could. I didn't have a ton of time to ride around.
From my experience though, Chicago on a bike is an exercise in whiplash. You're on a massive protected bike boulevard for two miles but turn left and suddenly you're fighting taxis on a 3-lane highway.
For as little time as I spent there, I rode on the sidewalk more than in any of the other cities I've been in the past few years.
Doing some video editing and compositing work for Dreamsettler, and it feels great. I always forget how much I miss this.
...and I also always forget to re-install my AE plugins.

One of the guys I work with left Microsoft on Friday, and his parting gift was to send off a PR to fix something that had been bothering him for a year in another's team's code
I don't believe you.
Fine, fine, the snow isn't coming back, I'll swap out my bike's snow tires.
I feel like I just put them on! What is time?!
My unpopular "Star Trek: Picard" finale take:
Raffi had 25 years of experience when Seven joined Starfleet, why isn't *she* captain of the Enterprise-G?
Not complaining, exactly, but it's just one more bit of S3 lore that just sorta shrugs off what was established in S1 and S2.

Happy #StarWarsDay folks
I'll confess, I've had no desire to test an AI chatbot, and haven't done so yet.
I'm an aggressive early adopter, and even had beta access to the new Bing, but I honestly just haven't been inspired to try it out.
It'll be there when I need it, I guess.

so anti-WGA blue check conservatives are siding with the rich Hollywood elite who they earnestly believe are pedophiles? I got that straight?
People are different, all the same.

This is obviously dumb, but itโs really symptomatic of a larger problem โ which is that a lot of governance is just elected officials responding to the sales pitches of people who have access to them, and not following through on any sort of long-range planning. https://twitter.com/clarkcountynv/status/1653808770492026883
