@mrblissett it’s a very interesting association I’d not heard of before. I’m excited to read more studies on it for sure.

@mrblissett it’s a very interesting association I’d not heard of before. I’m excited to read more studies on it for sure.
@mrblissett The study you linked does not state that 90% of infected infants develop ASD. Were you looking at the CI (confidence interval)? Anyway, the study concluded that there was a significant association but I didn’t 90%.
@mrblissett I’m not seeing that 90% figure you stated represented in the literature but I could be missing something. Can you link the study that claims an infected infant has a 90% chance of being autistic?
@ria It’s really difficult to say without seeing your levels. As your route of administration changed and your regimen, I would expect that your prescriber wants you to get bloodwork soonish?
@shaggyzed @Impossible_PhD So much of this essay resonated with me but that specific line….wow. Beautifully written indeed.
This morning, I learned that trailblazing computer pioneer and trans woman Lynn Conway has passed away. Her legacy will live on for hundreds of millions of computer users completely unaware of what she did to facilitate the device they're using.
Her legacy will live on for hundreds of thousands of trans people who saw her - and other trans pioneers of her generation - as role models, inspiration and proof that being trans doesn't stop you from being a leader in your field... however hard folks might try to stop you.
As a young trans woman in 2001, it was Lynn's story, along with other trailblazing trans people of her generation, that gave me hope, a reason to fight, and an amazing community of elders whom I could show to family and friends seeking to understand what it meant that I was making a journey of my own (and what it meant for my future)
Some of my friends and followers knew Lynn personally. I would like to express my deepest sympathies to them, and to her family.
Thank you to my friend Ina Fried for the lovely obituary https://www.axios.com/2024/06/12/lynn-conway-pioneer-passes-away

More Pride, Less Prejudice
To my #trans siblings, things are often difficult for us. It's true. And that's putting it lightly. But I want you to remember something.
You are taking part in a revolution.
You may not have chosen to be a revolutionary, and you may just want to live a happy life. I understand. But one thing that you need to know is that both your struggles and your happiness are praxis.
Your authentic existence is the revolution.
What you do with that is up to you, but you will always be an important part of one of the most important moments in our history and in our future. More than ever, it will be increasingly impossible to erase the idea that we were ever here, from our siblings and the rest of the world, in perpetuity. Your authentic existence is making this possible.
Yes, you.
@gemelliz @CanadianCrone They only have to work half the year while Ontario residents only get 3 (unpaid) sick days a year. Make it make sense!
@revoluciana I definitely needed to hear/read this! Thanks ❤️!
@zigged this is why I think it’s Jen! Are the producers/Heather trying to protect her in the context of her upcoming trial? Also, if I was the one hit and bruised, I’m not sure I would care about the trial. I’d be pretty upset. Just not sure why Heather would want to protect her assailant.
@gemelliz I’m a nursing student and the first thing I’m doing when I graduate is moving to a system that is moral enough for me to practice without guilt. So much of my glass time is about the dangers of being poor. This kind of thing only increases the impact that socioeconomic status has on health and wellness. It’s heartbreaking.
@markuswerle @lefticus @rubbel That is, surprisingly, a step in the right direction. I really feel like they are trying…just missing the mark a bit!
@lefticus @rubbel @markuswerle Which is also a problematic question. Some trans people have periods/pms symptoms and find period trackers useful! I have owned garmin devices as well, I really liked their body stress tracker. Point is, businesses need to tell you what information they actually want instead of making assumptions based on gender identity.
@rubbel @markuswerle What you’re born with actually doesn’t have anything to do with the health data. It has more to do with whether you are metabolically driven by estrogen or testosterone. Well, that’s what my doctor told me anyway. So gender doesn’t actually capture the information they need.
