@mactunag ahhhh you belong to the milk-first school, my grandmother would sneeze at you :D I take a more practical approach, same as cream before jam or jam before cream on scones : whatever tickles your pear, flower ;) <3
The page of the Highland dance school and the Harp Society informations. Directed by dr. Vincent Michaud-Laine and based in Finland although internationally orientated.

We don't have a moral or technology crisis.
IA doesn't do anything that computers didn't do before, it tries to code everything in 1 and 0. What we have is an epistemology crisis. With IA con groups, we're back to the 19th century with the idea that there are Substances and applying logic and a positive comparative method (only what's "similar") allows one to reach the Substances.
But the logic of what, whom and in which context ? Read Popper.
IA is mostly a fraud which'll soon cost lives.
New Zealand has the most beautiful, swift but technically challenging Sword Dance steps. I'm practicing an entire progressive array which ends in a helicopter-worthy turning step which I adore although it makes me braw dizzy

@mactunag aye I think it's better not to engage in reading the ravings of such pitiful shrivelled hearts, we know what revisionist balderdash they're posting and you and me, I reckon, cannot refrain from getting emotions and reacting. Protect yourself, and as for fighting them, well you do that brilliantly by being yourself, posting you things and getting deep into things the way you do ;)

I was frustrated at this Latvian koncertkokle for being beautiful, attractive, enticing but way too tensed for my Gaelic harp nails and with unpleasant sharp harmonies when played with nails.
Worked my knowledge and feel on it, lowered the tension, changed some strings and now enjoy its lovely warm bell sound.
I do not feel I am betraying any tradition in here because of how a folk instrument way into someone's hands is an intense individuation experience.
@gunchleoc Tapadh lead, m'eudail, am bhiodh fuis agad ciamar a fhaodaigh mi gluasad gu server ùr, no am feumadh mi tòiseachadh às ùr, agus bith a’ call mo luchd-aithne agus a h-uile càil-seo ?
Went to mastodon because I liked the sensical and firm moderation rules but the .social server I wound in has a very very short character limitation which renders mastodon rather useless to me. I know I could transit to another server but the procedure is very complex, I don't feel up to it and anyways finding an adequate server is rather cryptic. This technical geeking for geeks aspect, methinks, is a massive drawback and repellant for fediverse, feels a bit elitist... sigh...
@mactunag ohh the fun ... cannae shake a feeling, given its quite obvious they don't really care about kids at all otherwise, that our dear puritan governments are keen on realising loads and loads of lovely files about who goes to get exited at what, who plays what, sees what, etc... the age verification eu and uk promised was to be double anonymous, but so far it's only single, the sites don't get infos but the official app sure does... sigh ...

In my Highland dance teaching career I have been gifted an awful lot of flowers.
But this time, I was gifted a sword !
So grateful I have these students !
<3
Will be good old cock-a-leekie soup today, to help us deal with that "summer" weather we're having.
Now, my household seems to find the dish name alarming, I'm sure I don't know why.
@mactunag cho math thu ! I did manage to get rid of faece-book and messenger, unfortunately WhatsApp will have to stay a wee bitty more as my mother still uses it (calls it 'what-a-nyaff') and cannot be suggested to try and learn another app :/

A Franco-Scottish festival in the Loire region has refused to a highland dancer friend of mine that she performs New Zealand style highland dances, on the basis that it's Scottish dance the festival is about. The sheer amount of ignorance and insult to the diaspora's story and their dire efforts to keep their culture alive and open generation after generation leaves me speechless. I'm more than ever on New Zealand Academy's side, proudly and resolutely, from the depth of my Scottishness.
@artnacrea a proud Wīwīlander who teaches highland dance New Zealand style, I can't but applaud to this !
@bullivant well, they write gan ainm, without a name.... so either a twist in the quotation or, more like, a cultural appropriation gone wonky ;)
At it again ...
The connected energies of Scotland and New Zealand, and my magnificent and loud jig shoes
