"You're too young for [chronic illness]."
Wow, I'm cured.
It ran off because you reminded my immune and nervous systems of the medical statutory laws.
Thank you. Thank you so much. Now my body will finally act it's age.

If youβve already filed a successful FOIA appeal, we'd love to share your strategy and inspiration with others. Share your records appeal with us and we will see if we can develop an exemption page to match, crediting you for your contribution and making it available for all requesters to learn from and adapt. https://www.muckrock.com/assignment/share-your-sample-foia-or-public-records-appeal-20/form/
Looking for #FOIA nerds who will be at IRE this summer! LMK if you'd be interested in getting up to some fun.
@MikeFernandes This is probably the best link I have for an attempted summary of it, but it still leaves a lot out (by necessity) and is out of date https://www.coindesk.com/layer2/2022/03/08/assangedao-raised-56m-and-quickly-split-up-was-it-still-a-success/

I've made another post with a link to a more shareable and complete description of the project and needs. It also includes descriptions of other smaller projects in need to adoption alongside or separately

Hi friends,
The http://alt-text.org alt text library project needs a new leader, I have brain cancer.
I built a working, scalable, proof of concept library of shared alt text with fuzzy matching.
I'd like to connect with the #accessibility dev community. I want to hand the project off to a team or a leader if anyone is willing to take it over.

Boosts appreciated
People are obsessed with smart devices and apps and walled gardens that force you to endure surveillance and - unless you pay extra - endless ads.
Seems weird to me.
@molly0xfff I miss not constantly being herded in walled gardens. I miss spaces that don't exist primarily to be surveilled, where the creators moderated and maintained them instead of depending on unpaid volunteers, while they steal from and monetize their users. I miss not constantly being subjected to the next "new thing" which is forcefully integrated into everything - facebook and google login, crypto, chatbots and ai, etc. I miss communities existing instead of spaces. I miss the time when gameification and engagement weren't a thing anyone cared about outside of marketing departments and there was no such thing as a "content creator."
I miss when the eternal september was more good for users than it was for corporations.
When I discussed #AssangeLeaks on @2600's @OffTheHook radio, one of the things I talked about was #WikiLeaks giving the Danish military unredacted access to the Iraq files.
Since then, I've dug up an old interview where #Assange DOES talk about it. I've also located statements where the Danish military LIES about receiving the material from WikiLeaks, for unclear reasons.
I'm working on an article with details about both, and wanted to share the update in the meantime. There are still some other questions up in the air (e.g. some conflicting reports but no original statements or recordings) that I'll also explore.

Much of the US case is based on digital logs of conversations held between WikiLeaks associates and accounts allegedly manned by Assange himself. Ironically, most if not all of this evidence has itself been leaked over the years or otherwise amassed by independent researchers. Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDOS), a WikiLeaks successor, has compiled at least hundreds of thousands of pages of relevant documents from various confidential sources, including those targeted by FBI informers and by the bureau itself via search warrants.
A private database created by DDOS, reviewed by WIRED, currently contains roughly 100 gigabytesβ worth of WikiLeaks material, including several hundred thousand internal emails and tens of thousands of chat logs, many bearing account names known to have been used by Assange personally.
...
Emma Best, a journalist and co-founder of DDOS, says it is believed the organization possesses allβor nearly allβof the recorded conversations cited in the US governmentβs indictment. A large percentage of internal WikiLeaks chatter is said to have been recorded by Sigurdur Thordarson, a former WikiLeaks associate, in the years and months prior to his betrayal of the organization.
...
βThe case against WikiLeaks and Assange is as misunderstood as it is secretive and important, problems worsened by the many liars involved and the largely vibes-based analysis of it,β she tells WIRED. βThe first step to fixing this is simple: Leak the case.β
BREAKING: The UK court has ruled that #WikiLeaks co-founder Julian #Assange can appeal his extradition case in a new hearing
Note: The US may be able to preempt this if they provide βsatisfactory assurancesβ on whether Assange can rely on the First Amendment or be subjected to the death penalty.
Assurances due by April 16, adjourned until May 20.
