Chan chan!

In the journal Nature, all peer review comments and responses will now be published.
"The exchanges between authors and referees should be seen as a crucial part of the scientific record, just as they are a key part of doing and disseminating research"

People who oppose anarchy be like:
"People cannot be trusted to govern themselves, but one or a few persons can easily be trusted to govern hundreds of millions of other people."
It's insulting that we're considered incapable of making our own decisions, yet we're expected to trust in the wisdom of those who hold power.
Perhaps it's time to reevaluate the notion that people need to be governed, and instead, explore systems that foster collective autonomy and mutual aid.
It's really interesting how forced pregnancy enjoyers ooze "concern" about babies, yet that concern stops whenever it steps on the toes of the NRA. Maybe the reason some women get abortions is because they don't want children born into a world in which any day might see them shot. #GunControlNow https://alabamareflector.com/2025/03/20/youth-gun-deaths-in-the-us-have-surged-50-since-2019/?emci=e719f82f-cb05-f011-90cd-0022482a9fb7&emdi=4846051d-4e06-f011-90cd-0022482a9fb7&ceid=136240

@mattblaze I have a phone that can be dialed with punch cards, but nowadays if I show it to students they are more mystified by the fact that it can be dialed with, well, a dial.

#TransStudies slash #QueerStudies scholars: do you have a fave paper on queer tokenism and representation?
My go-to for discussing the harms of tokenism is Davis, E. (2016). Typecasts, tokens, and spokespersons: A case for credibility excess as testimonial injustice. Hypatia, 31(3), 485-501 https://www.jstor.org/stable/44076488 — it is a brilliant paper, but I'd like to have something specifically about queer/trans folk if it exists
Hi!
I'm Anouk, a postdoc researcher at the University of Copenhagen working on the role of #courts in #migration policies in the center for global mobility #law (MOBILE).
I recently defended my PhD on the role of French administrative judges in deportation proceedings, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods (using #python).
I'll be posting about my research (currently working on #asylum), and look forward to connecting to other people in the field!
Hello, I'm trying this out.
