One year ago I made Ashes to Ashley after struggling with comics for years and practically giving up. The fact other people like Ashley's story is amazing to me. I don't intend to stop making these comics, I'm already writing the third one. Thanks everyone, there's a lot of fun yet to come!
Recommending and talking about art is itself a creative act. I believe that art in many cases need permission to work on you and recommending or analyzing art can be what inspired someone to let themselves enjoy a piece of art they otherwise wouldn't have.
If you want to engage with art but feel like you can't draw, can't write and can't play music... well, first of all you're almost certainly wrong, but also this is something you can do. Something as simple as a string of reblogs of other people posting their art is in itself creativity, just expressed in the form of curation. What you are creating is context.
@futureruins Why use AI when you can just black out in front of a keyboard for an unknown number of hours and then slowly regain consciousness while staring at several pages of uncommented code you're a little afraid of running.
Progressive rock is when there are some synthesisers in the mix
Synth pop is when there's mostly synthesisers in the mix
Techno is when it's all synthesisers
@elly The boomers were right about some things: I don't want to subscribe to software I already bought, I don't want to store my files in the cloud when my own computer and hard drives work just fine, I want physical buttons on things that have one function each, people should wear headphones when browsing tiktok in public and progressive rock actually kind of slap.
been a while since this one was in the #livecoding scene but it's interested in learning some DSP so it can try making its own synth nonsense from scratch. Anybody got any recommendations for learning resources for learning DSP stuff (like, how to implement filters and such)?
boosts appreciated!
