IT dude in #Perth #WesternAustralia reporting in.
July 2023: May be quiet for a couple of weeks while I see what this BlueSky thing is all about https://bsky.app/profile/numbat.social
See pinned post for #intro
No matter how much I may like your image of whatever I won't Favourite or Boost it if it doesn't have good Alt-Txt. You know it makes sense.

@flux Ta. I can't keep up with what platform all the cool kids are using anyway
Got 2 Bluesky invite codes going if anyone wants to see some different train-wrecks of emotional over-socialisation or whatever
New friend of mine got interviewed this morning about the state of WA housing industry if you're interested.
Today's historic #photo of the day: Exactly 36 years ago today, SW5 class #tram no 777 on a Carnegie to City route 67 service runs along the single track section in Truganini Road, Carnegie, Vic, August 15 1987.
At that time, this 400m section along Truganini Road was the last remaining single track section on Melbourne's tram network. In fact, apart from terminus stubs, museum and heritage lines, it was the last section of single track on a regular passenger tramway anywhere in Australia.
TransPerth bus 3985 smells of brand new-ness and now has a happy little (if wonky) extra passenger
Not sure when it changed as I've tried to do this before, but seems in Australia we can now have VOIP numbers receive SMS. So I've been busily changing any of my two factor authentication providers that still use SMS to a new VOIP number to avoid any possible SIM-swap attacks. Not that I'm a high target or anything. #ITSec #2FA
@Triskerslake Cheers. What's nice is that every builder we speak to knows what's happened and is doing us good deals
Maybe time for a housebuild update then. This is how far fuckwit builder got. Nothing has happened on site for over a year now.
Yay. Insurance settlement from my fuckwit housebuilder should be in my account in next couple of days! Can then find someone who will do actual building!
@andrew LOL. Went there yesterday for lunch. It was closed.
@teddyc i am enjoying it yes. my Feed is joyful
Reminds me, another BlueSky code available if anyone wants one
Edit: gonesky
@davidmarsh Thinking about it, I'm not sure if I should rank security breaches on buses above my two colleagues who got on the bus after me a while back, didn't see me and spend nearly the whole journey pashing.
@mof_sg good work!
Just got the bus home. The guy in front of me got his laptop out. Odd for this route. Long story short, he's an Accenture contractor working in Rio Tinto and really didn't seem to mind me seeing spreadsheets with details of much of their networking equipment, PuTTY sessions, usernames, emails, project names etc. Might dob him in #InfoSec #Accenture #RioTinto
@Ex_spurt @skribe I'd get solidly behind an Aussie Backyard Games like that.
"Here comes Davo. He's had a big week, but it's Friday arvo, he's knocked off early, downed a shit tonne of Emu Export and durries and is now warmed up for the "How far can you throw a sausage" contest (sponsored by Bunnings)
@Whirlybird @Mountaineer I am similarly not decided. If it helps, these are the official pamphlets
