I asked an AI (ChatGPT) to write an ode in iambic pentameter to Silas. Why, I think this robot has known my cat for all his life!

She believed she could, so she did. Health policy wonk, workers' rights advocate, small charity manager, data cruncher, purveyor of pretty graphs. I'm relentlessly hopeful, wear too many florals and constantly post cat pics.

Update on my lost luggage, I have good news and bad news.
Good news: they found my bag.
Bad news: they can't send it over until frigging Saturday.
Also suspect how the f-up happened: only just realised that when I got in the flight they didnβt scan my boarding pass at the gate, so they must have assumed I had missed my flight.
Good morning to everyone, except to Ryanair who lost my sodding hold luggage.
And a heartfelt Bollocks to Brexit as well, since I now have to pay up to Β£2 for data roaming.
The Sweetie and I went to Lightopia in Manchester
Good morning from the windowsill!
This is Ty Lee, I'm staying with her humans in London. She's a smart and adventurous little cookie.

@christineburns the real question is : how much do they add to the house value? The guy who gave us the quote said 15%, but from what I could verify independently it sounds more like 5%.
@christineburns
Our energy bills are low-ish atm, so the one guy who gave us a quote reckoned that we'd be able to sell back to the grid enough to cover the standing charge.
Only problem is : our house is a small-ish two up two down, so after we get married, when we're ready for kids, we'd want to move slightly bigger. So right around the time we'd be done paying for the panels we'd have to leave them for the next person to reap the benefits.

Would a drive for more solar panels on houses help in this direction too? We've been low key considering it for our home.

In Romanian slang, when someone does incredibly stupid π© and hurts their own interests in anger or just to be an asshole /troll, we say they "hit their own balls with a claw hammer"
The Romanian word for claw hammer is "tesla".
they put a christmas sweater on the t-rex at the national history museum in london and it's ridiculous and adorable
@CJTerry That's dissapointing to my deeply sophomoric sense of humour
@contrapoints and a great reminder generally that money doesn't equal sense.
Hello newcomers! Don't worry, you can have fun wasting time here just like at the old place. My #mastodonAdvice: 1) use preferences to stop autoscrolling 2) search hashtags you like and follow people who post to them 3) add a photo and brief bio to your profile so people will follow you back 4) don't worry about the slowness, it's server overload from new sign-ups 5) hashtag your posts so people can find and follow you 6) there are lots of spreadsheets of scholars by discipline to find people
Oh by the way, a #birdsite employee wrote to Ask a Manager (one of my favourite blogs as a #workersrights #advocate / #career #advisor /#manager. It's BAAAAD.

@kawshik201 @ishaq not sure about a need for a proper psychiatric diagnosis. He is a rich privileged toff with a lot of money and power who thinks he is much smarter than he actually is - and that in itself is dangerous enough.
