@axxl Lots of options! We played with a Steam Deck connected to a TV, if that’s any help.

Sunderfolk is one of the most enjoyable couch coop games I've played in ages. It's a Tabletop-style RPG played with a shared big screen and the players' phones functioning as controllers and individual displays, Jackbox-style.
While the story is a bit anodyne and generic, the play mechanics are beautifully thought-out and polished and the character classes nicely differentiated, making planning strategies with friends a delight. Recommended.
I am far better at "a place for everything" than I am at "everything in its place."
Great article by my friend and colleague Ronnie about the new Foundation Model API from Apple, covering its strengths, weaknesses, and suitable use cases: https://ronnierocha.dev/blog/wwdc-2025-apples-on-device-foundation-model-is-here-but-is-it-any-good/
@isaiah dang, my friend. Glad you’re mostly ok. Sorry the phone didn’t fare as well.
"AI means leverage. You can get more out of your work, but you’ll work harder for it. You can get them to write you code, but you’ll spend that time writing more precise design specs. You can get them to write design specs, but you had better have your requirements nailed down perfectly. Leverage means you have to keep control. AI will take you very far, very fast. Make sure you’re pointed in exactly the right direction."
Good article by @cocoaphony: https://cocoaphony.micro.blog/2025/06/16/tilai-thoughts-on-ai.html
I've been experimenting a good deal with AI-assisted coding over the last few months. While tools for Apple's stack still lag behind those for many other platforms, the folks behind the Alex toolbar are doing yeoman's work to bring AI capabilities to Xcode.
I've been wanting an app to show quotes on my home server. Not having written an Mac code before, I was pleased (and stunned) to be able to use Alex to create what I wanted in just a couple hours. Code & deets here: https://github.com/SeanMcTex/readwisedisplay
Here’s the latest on protests here in San Antonio, as well as a fine example of why I love this town: https://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/san-antonio-national-guard-ice-protest/
Recent flight experiences by airline:
- American: Delayed 36 hours at layover. Had to rent car, burn a day of work to get home from DFW in reasonable time. AA required that we manually and individually request refunds for myself and spouse.
- Delta: Delayed 1 hour. Airline apologized, proactively emailed meal and hotel vouchers.
I've never before been brand-loyal to any airline, but the contrast here was certainly stark!
Thanks to https://www.meetup.com/indy-cocoaheads/ for the swell Keynote viewing party!
@jefframes I tried one or two that looked promising on AliExpress, but had similar issues with connectivity and reliability. Haven’t tried a custom build yet — too many irons in the fire to be able to spare that time. :(
@jefframes what sensor did you use? I haven’t found one I love yet.
@isaiah dude, that’s wonderful, and wonderfully generous. Glad it was a joy for you, as well as for your loved ones!
@isaiah 10 year courtship! You’re a patient man. 😁 Big congrats to the both of you! May you have at least 36 more delightful years together.
@isaiah @Aaronvegh would love to hear where that leads you. I haven’t done any ObjC for years, but had good luck writing some Mac code with it a few weeks back.
@Aaronvegh @isaiah Yep. What Aaron said. Still has some rough edges, but certainly the best thing I've seen going for AI-abetted Swift development.
@jefframes I haven’t yet made time to explore it, but friends who are smart about CAD matters have been recommending https://www.onshape.com/en/ to me lately.
@agiletortoise You kinda gotta if you’re in the hood.
I thoroughly enjoyed this dev log covering the sound design of the upcoming game PVKK (the full name of which is, delightfully, “Planetenverteidigungskanonenkommandant”): https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2956040/view/529846874009502735
