I owe my entire career to this language.
I landed my first engineering role from just going to a PHP Meetup. Meetups and then conferences steered me into Developer Relations. I've made friends all over the world. I've watched it go from an underperforming, language perceived as legacy into a blazing fast, top choice for development due to crazy levels of innovation. #30YearsOfPHP
Missed phpDay in Verona this year? No probs, I was there with Vonage speaking on CLI design. Get the lowdown on some talks in the summary here, featuring Roman Pronskiy, Florian Engelhardt, Laura Durieux, Gina Peter Banyard, and Zuzana Kunckova.

Right, it's today at 5pm BST, folks. Join me and Karl Lingiah as we go through RCS Messaging, and I implement a chat window with Laravel Echo, Livewire and Reverb.
@elazar ...and this is off the back of cancelling Tek as well 🫠😢
Even experienced developers might be less familiar with the crazy world of JS evolution. Have a light hearted history lesson in your lunch break, courtesy of the work from Ryan Dahl, Bun, and countless others.

Absolutely gutted to note that the CfP has opened up for LonghornPHP, and I can't respond because it is not safe for me to do so, should I be accepted. Heartbreaking.
@anthony yes
@flowcontrol @phptek damn son, you did phpday and tek straight after as well. That's some serious conference business
@derickr I don't think they've thought that far ahead yet. Can you imagine the heat it's going to radiate this summer
@TheGingerDog the football is for their kids. I expect to hear crying soon when one of them has slid on the surface, because plastic and friction do not work well together
It has taken my neighbours 3 years to finally sort out a messy garden after buying the house.
They put a giant slab of fake plastic grass on it. Just that. Nothing else. It goes all the way to the right, double the distance.
Our planet is cooked.
@phrawzty I think that has very much been the case in recent times, starting with the Gulf War II... and just as things were calming down after that massive booboo, Brexit came along.
However, Sam Ryder almost winning it 2 years ago does show it's not all old scores.
Plus we're looking to be on an EU repair path. Pie in the sky but accepting the Euro would be a massive positive step
You know what, our eurovision entry isn't too bad #eurovision
@shochdoerfer @Girgias it's happening!
Next up we have Laura Durieux on generative AI work @api-platform.com #phpday
CAN I JUST SAY AT LUNCH @Girgias SHOWED ME A WORKING EXAMPLE OF GENERICS IN PHP
