King of the seas, proud and tall, my beauty a reflection of all. When an angel sings, glyphic dings fall from her wing. We paint the morning sky with red and black.

@umezane06 I love the way you draw lines. It's especially apparent when seeing them scattered on their own.
@umezane06 Sleep is for the Week!

@AcidicUme Not sure I really like these synths, even though I love sequenced music...this is one of my favorite albums, though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6PFfWW2exU
@AcidicUme No 4321 or Donut Shop, huh...? How much did you like this album?
@AcidicUme You bought the CD?! With all the costs running up?! Amazing! This has one of my favorite Betwixt tracks.
Sherkel leitmotif + Betwixt pattern:
@AcidicUme Whoa, the Self Extortion effect! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_7vKXaPnUk
The enduring overlap between #blackMetal and #dungeonSynth reminds me of the overlap with #freeformHardcore and minimal styles (Shinnae, Koori, My Universe, etc.) It points to a shared ethos of emotion and experience being more important than style.
@RebalLance Wouldn't it be cool if objects could be turned into cards with a magic spell, and then those cards would turn back into the same material when zapped with high electricity, allowing them to be categorized and mixed in all sorts of ways? Just an idea that's been on my mind for a while.
@AcidicUme I can't keep up with all these discoveries! It can be really hard to find what you want to listen to sometimes, huh?
@umezane06 Yep, the version played in Movement! Alek's live sets are full of more drastic examples, though, like the Unicorn Grove sequel from 2006 and Starcrossed.
With how ridiculously motivated he is when it comes to creation, it's surprising he releases anything at all. I'm grateful that he does!
@umezane06 (Footnote: The different names for these are based 100% on precepts that have to be agreed upon by both composer and listener. You will hear objections to calling them "the same", but those objections will be wrong. I was just surprised to see them marked "major".)
@umezane06 The short version: trust your ears more than external tools, whether it's DJing, production, or just casual listening.
@umezane06 It's not as simple as DJ software makes it look, anyway. C major is technically both A minor and B locrian, the first being the "most innocent" scale and the latter two being considered two of the most evil, but it's only because starting a melody on B or A with that scale tends to push it in an "evil" direction. C major can be made to sound just as evil even if C is the first note played. It's sort of like how 3/4 is 6/8 is 12/16, and 4/4 is technically 29/32 alternating with 3/4.
@AcidicUme Saved!
@AcidicUme Earth is in the background...so he was actually on the sun when he produced this!
@umezane06 Are they all actually major?! Some people find major more intense than minor, so I could be one of them... Off the top of my head Vengeance doesn't sound like either, though.
@umezane06 This is a very memorable album for me! I still wonder why he only released that short edit of Absence!
