I just realized the written design story may be lost to time if it hasn't already. Seems like it getting readded to Foundations is a timely reminder.

Dear WotC : Please never do the numbering you did on #MTGFoundations ever again. There are FIVE different recycles of the color run through the whole thing based on origin product. Sorting by collector number has no real rhyme or reason.

Foundations as a set is 512 unique cards, with 133 being brand new.

This is a baseline establishing set the likes of which Magic hasn't done before. The closest to a set of this size in the past was 5th Edition, with 460 cards.

@augieray 2016 was the first red flag. We shouldn't even be here if people were decent.

Getting the deserters back in the Commander game. Rolling the stock Prosper list right now, and I need about 20 of these. MVP in each game so far. Even a 7/3 split on the d12s was enough to pull back a losing game.

2 time City Champs Top 8, 1 time winner (look it up, it's Old)
#FGC for years. Good enough to step on local players, that's about it. Much better explaining tech than executing it.

Old foils were thicker, and modern foils have always had a curl risk. Foil cards has always been a marked card vector. Tournament best practice is always all non-foil, or a bunch of random foils.
The fact there was a DQ means investigation revealed intent of abuse. Marked cards by themselves aren't a DQ offense. Typically a set of important cards were foiled with nothing else will trigger a DQ worthy investigation.
