I did all the work for this guy, found a good technician in this area, had him come out and assess everything, he even compiled it all into a report for the guy and emailed it to him, and still he refused to okay just doing a replacement. Sure he can try and find a sub for the motor which is ancient, and which will cost roughly the same amount as gutting it all and redoing everything with newer parts, parts that are, ya know, up to code? Nope, the most he’d okay was a capacitor for now, so here’s hoping this thing doesn’t crap out for the minimal times I’ll need it this winter. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!! One of the many things I hate about renting.

Morning MastoPeople. An update on the AC situation is that the capacitor was replaced, which is all the owner of this wonderful condo will spring for at the moment. This is a bandaid approach however, because the motor is still on its way out, and the entire thing needs replacing, but at least it’s working for now. Vegas winters are quite mild, which gives me plenty of time to work on this slumlord bastard before next summer hits… provided I’m still here by then… But sweet relief!!!! It’s cool in here again.

Why "utter contempt?" It's saying that, even if I know for a fact that I want to give a particular app permission, macOS will treat me a like a child and keep asking me. Because Apple doesn't believe I am qualified to grant permanent permission to any app.

Another sign that the people in charge of security and privacy features at Apple are out of control and that nobody who stands up for user experience is being heard.

It's august!!! In Vegas!!!!! and my AC chooses now to take a proverbial crap? Great start to the month yall. Whole thing needs replacing, too, Good times kids... Well technically it's not totally dead, but needs an overhaul badly because the unit is ancient and just breaking down motor-side so it's just a matter of time before it bales completely.
