If you think it can’t happen here, remember that it already did. In 1942 soldiers came with rifles to our home and ordered us out. They put us in internment camps. Most of us were citizens.

@xgranade 1/2 Search for ideas and to help plan. 1) Using Perplexity for ideas of things to do in a city is a quick jump start over Google or TripAdvisor. 2) How to help for computer / software related things, e.g., set up a public Google sheet for info sharing with a public form and private sheet to collect new candidate entries and alert me when I e is submitted (I'm not much of a Google sheets user). 3) concert data / info online into more useable form, saving me a lot of manual time...

I take it all back. $45 million was a small price to pay to humiliate President Trump at his own parade and mobilize millions of Americans across the nation to demonstrate against him.

@pluralistic Just once it would be nice to receive a message from the DNC saying "join us at the barricades"... Asking for money treats us as an audience, rather than as comrades. Jane McAlevey's criticisim of the failings of traditional labor unions applies equally to the DNC, I'm afraid.

Insurgent movements often aim to show that the government lacks a monopoly on the legitimate use of force, however our NON-VIOLENT protests opposing the MAGA administration instead exposes to the public that the administration's use of force and military power constitutes an unconstitutional and immoral overreach and is itself illegitimate.

Crowd-Sourced List of Python Resources Related to Halloween
If you look at this blog, you'll quickly see that many of my projects relate to Halloween. I don’t know if this is a good, bad, or dumb idea, but as I was thinking about my use of Python for controlling Halloween props, I had the thought that it might be nice to have and share a crowdsourced list of python-related resources re

I was thinking about my use of Python for controlling Halloween props and had the thought to have a crowdsourced list of python-related resources relating to Halloween, such as libraries, complete software packages, or even Halloween-themed games written with Python.

I’ve put together a Google sheet, docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d, with some initial pre-populated entries that anyone can view, along with a Google Form where anyone can submit additional resources for inclusion, docs.google.com/forms/d/1ijGOl.

@jaykuo While I love the falling out, and would be happy to see Tesla contracts cancelled, NASA, and to a lesser extent, the military, is quite dependent on SpaceX. And for NASA, it's because SpaceX has been the best performer by far among their contractors.

Quick Post #6: Bears Go Punk!
I've been pleasantly surprised by the uses around the house that I've found for the 3d printer my wife got for me last Christmas. This is about one such use. A couple of years back we saw some silhouettes of black bears in a yard while we were on vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains. I found patterns for some online and with plywood, jigsaw, and paint, we made a mama bear and two cubs. We lov

My periodic rave at how much I love #RSS (I am tying together lots of data for my work) and how it is truly the glue that holds together much of the open web. We are so lucky it gained critical mass before the worst of Web 2.0 took over and that it has lasted. We need to keep it alive at all costs.
