Thank you very much!

I'm saddened to hear about James Van Der Beek. I really enjoyed Dawson's Creek back in the day, and he just seemed like such a nice guy. Wishing his family strength in this difficult time.
I don't normally eat out for breakfast. But, since I have family coming for Lunar New Year, I decided to check out a traditional breakfast shop near their hotel for them (details in the alt text). I'm still stuffed at lunchtime.
@Inge
Welcome back! I'm looking forward to buckets of sassy, poignant comments about life.
There has been lineups outside of the banks all day. A run? Nope. Everyone is getting fresh, brand-spanking new bills to stuff into red envelopes. Lunar New Year is coming!
@janmschnurr
Looks like they're only in Taipei.

How are the various breads and pastries?
@gemelen
I thought the night mode was supposed to be better for people's eyes. Is it just personal preference?

A Perfect Spy may not be the best place to start with le Carré. It is more of a character novel than it is a spy novel. If that's what you want, great. But if you want something more espionage-heavy, try Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. If you want something more operation-heavy, try The Little Drummer Girl.

How crowded was it? We've heard that tourists from China have decreased, but that tourists from Western countries have increased.
This is a tangelo (a honeybell orange). It is an absolute juice bomb. It was like peeling a water balloon–almost more juice than pulp. Tasty, though.

That range is a little cooler than our winters. Nights have been 12-16°C this winter, and daytime highs have been 16-25°C. It's damp, though.
The brutality here in summer is the humidity. I never encountered anything like that on the prairies. I'm okay as long as I'm outside in the shade, but indoors or in direct sunlight is an absolute assault.
@Likewise
You make a good case.
My preferred wardrobe tends to favor a North American fall which, lets be honest, is like winter here. But I just don't like the unheated buildings. Plus, I ride a scooter. Still, it's manageable for me.
Winter on the Canadian prairies, however, is a completely different beast.
@gbrower
Is that park at the top the one with the monkeys, or is that a different one?
